Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
bauble I just went ahead and made a thread for Lilacpaw and Twilightdance. Because I feel like this will be a blast.
Lilacpaw burst into the medicine cat den with all the exuberance of a rowdy teenager just being let out of school for a long weekend. If he had a bag he would be tossing it against the wall. But all he had was himself so instead he threw himself down in a slump onto the mossy ground, kicking out a leg dramatically before he rolled onto his back and craned his head back to look for the Medicine Cat.
"Twilightdance!" He called eyes narrowing when he didn't see her in his immediate field of vision. The scowling face looked rather comical upside down as he was, but he wasn't quite ready to wind down from the tantrum he was building up to.
“Lilacpaw? I’m back in the store room,” came the reply, floating from a crevice in back corner of the medicine cat’s den. Twilightdance came out a few moments later to claim it, her paws green from handling herbs. She crossed over to a small pool in a corner to wash them, and when she was done she came over to sit in front of her apprentice. Her tail wrapped neatly around her clean paws. “Good afternoon.”
Often times she felt more like a big sister to Lilacpaw than a mentor — she hardly knew anything to pass down onto him yet, and really relied on Kier to take time to give her lessons so she could repeat them with the young tom. It was good that he was so young — it gave him plenty of time to learn.
Even now she didn’t have a specific lesson planned for him. So, she sat down, figuring that they could chat a little and she could check-in on him, and find out how he was doing. “How’s your day going so far, Lilacpaw?” she asked kindly. She would have told him to get up and straighten himself out, but she knew how much her etiquette lessons exasperated him, and they were all alone so it didn’t matter as much.
Lilcapaw groaned under his breath at her question, he hated that question, it was just a variation of 'how are you' and often he had no idea to begin with. He thought about what he could tell her, thought of mentioning his father might be tried for treason sometime soon, that his mother had disappeared, or that his siblings seemed to act as if he no longer existed.
These things didn't necessarily bother him, but they did make him feel... odd. He wasn't quite able to put a name to it just that his gut seemed to twist and he felt twitchy when he contemplated those things for more than a moment. "I suppose it's going well, I haven't done much of anything at all." He smiled in delight at being able to say as much. Lilacpaw was not in the business of doing work and anytime he could avoid it was a blessed occasion.
"Though I wanted to visit Kier," he frowned and rolled to his stomach, "I couldn't find him though."
