It was weird to be in a space like this. She had barely been a medicine cat apprentice when her mentor had disappeared, and since then, she had only really trained with the other garden keepers, especially the one she called her father. She had never really met any of the other medicine cats of the other clans, but her dad thought it'd be a good experience, for her to meet other cats who were following a similar path to her own.
So she came trotting along, towards the moon creek where they'd meet. Was anyone even going to be there? Would they all know each other? Was she the awkward one out? A grimace appeared on her face at the thought of being the new kid at the table again. Still, it couldn't be that bad, right? She had always been okay at making friends...
Slowly exhaling as she neared the meeting space, she closed her eyes for a moment, before slapping her paws on her cheeks as if to wake herself up. "Okay Sunny," she mumbled to herself, "you've got this!" Jumping up and down twice, she trotted to the clearing, with the usual bright smile on her face, the only difference being the slight tension in the crinkle of her eyes.
Pastelchaos was pretty sure that he was supposed to wait for Rosyclementine and that they were supposed to walk together. Pastelchaos was also pretty sure he didn't care. Maybe that was the reason he was still a Maverick after what was ... sort of a promotion? A punishment? A punishmotion? Maybe if he actually made an attempt to follow all of the spoken and unspoken rules, he would have moved social classes by now. But, he didn't, so at the bottom of the totem pole he remained.
If you would have asked him a moon ago what he thought he was going to be doing right about now, he probably would have said like... accidentally lighting a barn on fire. He would not have said going to a half-moon gathering. This wasn't to say the little tom was displeased at the prospect; Pastelchaos liked gossip as much as the next flamboyantly gay tom, and he figured this would be an excellent source of juicy interclan tea. In reality, that's why he had left his... mentor? in the dust- this was the first time he was excited about anything since he had been... informed of the position. The gossip was only half of the reason his little paws tapped with excitement. Not only would he be able to meet the other medicine cats and fish out all of their piping hot tea, but he'd be able to look Straybullet in the eye and go, "Haha I told you so see you did me a favor by getting me kicked out of the clan that was my home far before it was yours." Or, something like that.
Practically skipping by the time he reached the clearing, he let out a bumbling purr. Medicine cats wouldn't transform into weird derranged monster-cats. He could already feel the tension release from his shoulders for the first time in a week. A grin plastered on his face, the calico tom pranced over to the only other cat that had arrived. "Well, hi there!" he said with all the pep of an apprentice (he really was trying to hide the fact he was getting old, wasn't he?). "I'm Pastelchaos, medicine cat apprentice of DayClan. I am just so excited to get to know you!" He paused his quick speech to sniff the air. "SummerClan, right? I passed by there not too long ago. Wonderful place this time of year."
Rosy had been napping; he’d only woken up once Pastelchaos’ scent had already started to fade and had immediately leaped to his paws, giving his pelt a quick grooming and running out of camp, cursing over and over under his breath. And then he was even later because he had stopped to collect every beautiful herb he’d found along the way — just one more, he told himself, and then saw the next one ten paces further on; one more won’t hurt, then I’ll stop. Now, as he half-slid, half-trotted down the slope into the meeting, he was barely visible behind the huge swath of vegetation, his head leaning back to hold up the weight and his long legs moving with stiff awkwardness.
“Oh!” he greeted happily as soon as he saw his apprentice, “Pastelchaos — here, hold this.” Immediately, he unloaded half of his haul onto the tiny tom, piling flowers and herbs onto him. “God, what a haul, huh?” he asked delightedly, eyes wide and sparkling and a beaming grin on his face as he looked down at the overflowing bundle. “Marigold, lavender, thyme,” he suddenly raised a chunk of sticky, dripping honeycomb, “honey! SummerClan is amazing. Is that stealing?” He suddenly frowned, tilting his head. “It’s not stealing, is it? I’m still not all brushed up on medicine cat rules.” Laughing, he turned to Sunveins, that same bright, welcoming grin on his face. “Hi! I’m Rosy. You’re cute — I like your fur! Oh,” he suddenly turned back to Pastelchaos standing close beside him, looking down at him, his voice softening importantly, “parsley, don’t let me forget. I saw a huge spread but, well,” he laughed, clearly happier and move alive than he’d ever been with his new job in life, “I couldn’t carry anymore.” He was already a gifted medicine cat; he’d clearly found his calling, throwing himself into it with all his might, and it was just another thing that left him in awe of and besotted by Peachstar.

A fluffy cream cat appeared underneath the dripping honey and a pink tongue quickly swiped a few drops. "Mmmmm Summerclan's honey is so sweet!" Spiralimp purred in delight before raising her head to take a look at all the Medicine Cats. She had never been to one of these gatherings before. Having just recently been made a Medicine Cat even though she was still quite young, she felt so many different, exciting emotions finally getting to meet the others. "Hello there, I'm Spiralimp from Fallclan." She greeted with a little bow, and also grabbed a few more drops of honey with her tongue before sitting back up. Her big baby blue eyes batted innocently at the others.
It had taken her a while to find them because she kept getting distracted. There were so many berries along the way that looked so yummy, but she was sure that she wasn't supposed to take them. That wouldn't stop her on the way back, though... I mean, who would miss just a few little berries?

"Come on, come on, Chaman Braelynn! The group will leave us behind at this rate." A voice echoed over the moor. Squinting, you could make out a dark brown figure pop it's head out from the grass. Aine wasn't as excited for this as she was Chaman Braelynn first told her about the gathering, not that anyone could tell, especially from this distance. She bounced around from plant to plant like a kid in a candy store, overwhelmed and seeking out everything at the same time.
She was rather far ahead of the Chaman, but still held her tongue. At least from taking anything. Really, the Regime needed it, potentially more than any of the other clans. But it didn't feel quite right, she hadn't quite wrapped her head around it yet. Aine must have been one of the newer Medicine Cats, used to just taking from the stores and not worrying about where they came from.
She approached the group faster than it seemed, as now her voice was booming. "Snow's fun, but I was getting a bit cold on it." A dragonfly was spooked out of the grass, dark paws suddenly appearing to attempt to catch it. She missed spectacularly, as it flitted away. Aine turned around, walking backwards into the group on accident. "Do you get it Braelynn?? Because snow is cold and-" She paused as she backed into Sunveins, suddenly hopping away. "Ah sorry sorry. You guys are moving slower than I thought." Her wide grin was hard to be mad at, tail sweeping behind her as her excitement came back to her. Briefly she looked over the group, stopping for just a moment on the large amount of herbs Rosyclementine had. Her chipperness didn't let her sit on it for very long, suddenly puffing up her chest. "What did you think? I came up with that joke on my own you know. It'll be laughed at the world over. That's a Soothsong guarantee!"
Lilacpaw, barley out of kithood, had heard of this gathering and immediately decided there was no way he was showing up besides Twilightdance, she would spend a silly amount of time just trying to exchange pleasantries. Her obsession with manners was stupid and Lilacpaw hated doing anything with her when she insisted on being 'proper'.
What good was being proper, Kier had made it clear to him that being proper wouldn't get him anywhere. He wondered what Kier was doing, maybe there was be something new and exciting to do when he got back. He was already excitedly thinking about everything he could tell Kier when he returned, most importantly how Twilightdance behaved; because that was probably important. In truth Lilacpaw wasn't sure; he often just spoke and spoke and spoke until Kier cut him off. Still it would give him an excuse to barge into Kier's time at the very least. Or maybe he would go to Snowblister this time, he barely spoke to her and this would give him an excuse.
The journey was difficult for him, not used to going long distances and not a physical cat by any means. It was pure spiteful determination that got him there. His blue shaded eyes narrowed she he examined all the others and a scowl twisted his features at Aine's exuberance sullen glanced turning in her direction. He didn't like her he decided, she was too arrogant. Pot meet kettle. He looked back at the others and chose not to speak, simply looking down his nose at them. Perhaps he should have waited for Twilightdance

Braelynn watched as the young feline bounded agead of her full of wonder and excitement, and why shouldn't she be? The chaman remembered a tome like this, or just gatherings in general, and knew what Aine was going through...albeit slightly more hyperactive than she had been. The she cat gave a quiet sigh and shook her head but chuckled at the joke. "Yes you could say I caught your drift. It sure was a breeze and you had me howling at the end." Ah yes she could still joke with the best of them. "Now Aine you can continue with your elaborate and amazing jokes but do be careful not to run into others. Watch where you are walking so as to not hurt yourself. It would be a shame to have to turn around and go back home to heal properly."

As soon as Rosyclementine appeared with the hoard of herbs and things they had gathered from SummerClan, no less, she started wondering whether this was even a good idea. Did she just invite all these cats she had never met before to have a free-for-all house party in their territory...oh StarClan, the garden keepers were going to murder her when they realized a bunch of the blossoms and herbs were completely gone.
"Don't touch the parsley!" she snapped, before her eyes widened. Was that rude? Was she being rude to the other medicine cats? Oh no, oh no, this was not how she wanted to start off an introduction with. She had been pondering over how to make a good introduction for hours before this and here she was, completely ruining it. Her eyes were wide with panic, as she pulled on her ears with her paws. "they're not ready yet! You can't pick all of them now or we won't have as much in the summer!"
She stomped her foot, giving Spiralimp and Rosyclementine a menacing glare, though in reality, it was anything but intimidating. Sunveins had never looked intimidating in her life. "You have to let the herbs rest in spring," she lectured, "how else would you have a productive harvest later on? Have you guys ever heard of good gardening practices?"
She still wanted to make a good impression despite how frazzled she now appeared. Giving the others a weak smile that seemed more like a grimace than anything else. She cleared her throat. "Hi, I'm Sunveins and I don't think I've met...any of you." Was that a weird way to start a conversation?
Perhaps she was more nervous than she thought... Meadoweyes had waited patiently for Straybullet. This was their first meeting as medicine cats, not to mention it was also her first time seeing StarClan. She was going to either be accepted by them, or not. She was unsure which. What she did know, was that Chimerastar/hunt had told her that her mother was resting in StarClan. So perhaps.. she would get to see her for the first time. It was heavily on her mind as she waved her tail, her and Straybullet making their way to join the other cats who had already gathered.
Twilightdance had spent some time looking for her apprentice, just to realize the rambunctious tom had run out ahead of her. So when she crested over the hill leading to Nightclan, all alone, she was already frazzled by not only the breach of convention, but also her perceived tardiness. Though, she kept the tension hidden behind an elegant, diplomatic smile.
“Hi,” she bowed her head formally at the congregation. “I’m Twilightdance of Nightclan. And he—“ she paused and shot Lilacpaw a glance, “he’s Lilacpaw, my apprentice. Pleased to meet all of you.”
She tried not to be too hard on Lilacpaw since he was still practically a kitten, but she hoped the young tom hadn’t said anything... inadvisable in her absence. Kier had given her specific instructions on how they should purport themselves, how he wanted to improve public relations with the other clans. They were off to a less than ideal start— but she tried not to overreact.
Straybullet leaned over to murmur in his Clanmate Meadoweyes' ear. "I'm never going to remember all these cats' names," he said, "be prepared for me to keep bugging you with questions about names after this is over." Then he straightened and gave the other gathered cats a stiff smile, not really caring if they'd heard him or not. "Straybullet," he said, "of SwiftClan. Good to see you all."
His breath was warm on her ear, and she felt her cheeks grow hot underneath her fur at his closeness. Meadoweyes cut her violet eyes over to the tom with a slight smile, murmuring softly,"Don't worry, we're in this together." That was when she then turned to sweep her gaze over the ones gathered. Her sweeping eyes paused on the rather young one,Is that a kit..? Alarm flashed along her face, and she quickly tried to let it fade and go back to normal. Finally she put on another smile and swept her tail behind her, standing close to Straybullet. "I am Meadoweyes, SwiftClan's second medicine cat."
Cypresspaw had waved Sunveins ahead, shakily promising to catch up soon enough, having to make sure the storage was as neat and tidy as it could be and that there was no sudden emergencies (he poked his head through every den just to listen in, or whispered a question, only to hushed away with a slightly peeved 'it's alright'). It was alright, then, and after just one more double check, he was rushing after Sunveins, running until he was out of breath but mostly caught up. He lagged behind her for a moment, far enough that he would have to speak to get her attention but still had her in his sights. "H—" he started, words interrupted by a poorly timed cough. He was not used to running long distances. When the Moon Creek came into view, he slowed, watching her enter, and gave himself time to regain his composure. He was meeting medicine cats after all. He gave a glance over his shoulder, prickling with the sense that he always got outside of camp: that he was being watched. It was a foolish thought.
He padded in the minute he heard Sunveins chastising two other cats. He moved to hover uneasily beside her, looking around wide-eyed, mouth slightly opened, as if he'd never been outside before and was seeing it all for the first time in his life. Hi, I'm Sunveins and I don't think I've met...any of you.
"Oh — Cypresspaw," he followed suite, "her ... assistant, in Summerclan. Not quite apprentice." Yet? He was simply a practice-apprentice, as she'd said, and he fully expected someone else to be chosen in his place when she was ready to take one of her own, someone who would truly fit the role. Attempting to ease away his nerves, he settled for warily eyeing the crowd.
Rosyclementine just smiled through Sunveins' whole tirade, either sweetly thick or slightly sadistically happy with the chaos. Have you guys ever heard of good gardening practices? Blowing his cheeks out like he was thinking, he let out a loud breath, smiled, and chirped, "NOPE!" Immediately after, he laughed down at Spiralimp licking up the honey and then turned to each of the new arrivals in order; "hi, hi, hi, hi," he said to each, smiling. "Ooh, SummerClan and NightClan back together at last! I didn't see any of it firsthand, 'course, but GOD, the drama fed us all for weeks." He grinned widely for a moment, staring dazedly at a vague point like he was playing out the highly dramatised conflict in the imagined SummerClan camp, then blinked and quickly added with a sheepish laugh, tilting his head towards Sunveins and Cypresspaw, "terrible, of course."
Letting out a contented breath that said he didn't really think it was terrible, he padded languidly in a circle round the other medicine cats, his plumy tail trailing in the air and over a few shoulders and heads. Either he didn't notice, or just didn't mind.
Sunveins felt awkwardly in the spotlight as Rosyclementine mentioned the conflict between the two clans. Right. Her gaze turned to Twilightdance warily, as their eyes met for a moment, and she immediately turned away, a flush appearing on her cheeks. She wasn't exactly fond of NightClan cats–well, NightClan cats other than Sagebristle and maybe her brother, though that was still a tentative maybe–but she had never met the two that had appeared today. "Yeah," she shifted her paws uncomfortably, "that was...a lot, but we're all over it now...sort of, and I mean, I heard NightClan's under new leadership anyway, let's just hope they don't follow in Aspenstar's steps, god rest her soul."
There was a slight tinge of sarcasm in the end of Sunveins' statement, a dryness that was rarely used with her clanmates at all, but despite her sunny demeanor, it hid a temper inside. Still, she shrugged it off; she wanted to make friends, even if it killed her. It was clear that she wanted to avoid NightClan just a little bit, lest Sunstar saw her making friends with the enemy and banished her or something. Instead, she trotted over to Spiralimp instead. "Hi," she greeted with a nervous smile, "you're...from FallClan, right?"

Aine's joke was quickly washed up in the sudden tension between everyone. Guess most medicine cats were rather bristly. But what caught her attention were her mentor's words. It might have been a wonder she could hear them over the commotion. Things were pretty loud in the Garden though, so this was nothing new. What was, was hearing her mentor joke around. Braelynn always seemed so straight laced, maybe it was the warmer weather melting the ice. And her jokes weren't that bad either. Aine couldn't help but laugh, seemingly at nothing to the rest of the group.
"Yes yes. I'd hate to get cold feet and be sent back to the Regime in a flurry." She chirped. Besides, it didn't seem like Sunveins really noticed her little... misstep. But suddenly, Aine gravitated towards the company of her own clanmates and stepped closer to the Chaman. "Ah, right. Introductions. Aine Soothsong, as in do you feel that paw ON YUH shoulder?" Mischief laced in her smile, she placed her paw on the nearest cat's shoulder, which just happened to be Cypresspaw. "Boo!"
He stared as Rosy walked through the crowd, eyes narrowing in a slight confusion. These were some of the most unprofessional cats he had ever met — he expected healers to be noble, to be more compassionate (he stared at Rosy again for that one. He hadn't known of the Nightclan invasion until he was told, he came after, and he was almost surprised anyone could describe it as gossip). They were just strange — not that he wasn't, of course. Oh, god, maybe he was being too judgmental. Was he being mean? He chased the thoughts away.
As Sunveins left to talk to Spiralimp, Cypress opted to simply sit and stare in the corner, like that weird kid at a party who only hung out with the people he knew unless he was left behind, in which he was. He had no idea what they were actually supposed to be doing.
Embarrassingly, he still jumped at the paw on his shoulder, hopping back and turning to face Aine. He laughed, settled himself. "Oh. How funny," his words were genuine, "Aine is such a nice name! You know, I used to have a name kind of like that too, but I thought the clans had cool names, so I got one for myself."

Spiralimp's paws shuffled slightly at the sudden tension in the air. In a way, she was a bit jealous of the drama. Fallclan usually stayed out of the frays so she wasn't used to such excitement. But, it was probably for the best that they didn't get into any battles with other clans. Those meant that she had to actually focus and do work and she would much rather try new berries and ways to make herbs tasty for her...and the kits and other clan members, of course.
She had almost resigned herself to awkward, but slightly amused, silence when Sunveins approached. "Oh, yes! I am from Fallclan." Her fluffy cream chest puffed out a bit in pride but she quickly relaxed. "I know it's probably been a long time since any of the clans have seen one of us at a Medicine Cat gathering. I'm happy to meet you all. Summerclan really is beautiful. With a name like yours, I'm sure it is the perfect place for you."
Gods, Twilightdance had been hoping against hope that the invasion wouldn’t be brought up, as far-fetched as that was. They were medicine cats after all – they were supposed to be amiable, above the quarrels of their clans, and certainly not drama-mongers. Well, at least Rosyclementine had the mercy to save her the suspense of ducking the topic; the elephant had been addressed, the band-aid had been ripped off promptly. Still, she hated awkward moments; her diplomatic smile faltered; she sought out Sunvein’s gaze for a moment, caught it, before quickly turning away. It’d be best for everyone if they avoided each other for the time being. She instinctively drew Lilacpaw closer to herself, as if to shield the tom from anyone that might offer less than friendly gazes in the moment.
Thankfully the awkwardness dispersed as Sunveins trotted away. She took a renewing breath, refocusing herself on the purpose of the gathering. She wasn’t here to recount Aspenstar’s misdeeds, she was here to acquaint herself with her peers, and maybe learn a thing or two from them. Starclan knew she needed it; she’d never had Medicine Cat Apprentice training; she’d been promoted straight from the Warrior’s den. As she searched for a new conversation, her amber gaze caught on the Swiftclan duo, who looked to be on their own, much as she was with Lilac. She approached them with a friendly smile. “Hello. Straybullet was it? And Meadoweyes?” The ebony she-cat was good with names- she’d made a note of everyone who’d introduced themselves since she arrived. biyuu ☆彡 @ash

Sunveins was almost relieved that Twilightdance didn't seek her out. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't curious about the other cat–as much as she detested Aspenstar and her attack dog, she was...curious to what was going on in NightClan, and even more curious to her brother's existence there. Still, there was just too much awkwardness to really broach that topic right now, and she opted to pay attention to Spiralimp instead.
Was FallClan reclusive? She had never noticed. "Yeah, I think it's been a while since any of us have been to one too," she admitted sheepishly. After all, Vulturemalice had been gone for quite a while now, and it had taken Howlingheart a bit of time to catch her up to speed. She blushed at the mention of her name. "Thanks," she replied with a grin, her cheeks awash with a pink tinge, "yeah, I guess so, though maybe someone might think I'd fit into SunClan more, you know?" A giggle left her mouth. "So what's FallClan like? I know we're neighbors but I've barely met any of the other medicine cats." simplylight
