After being sent to the abandoned makeshift camp to bring back the freshkill that was stored there back to SunClan's main camp, a young apprentice(Lovepaw) staggers into camp with deep bite wounds and collapses. The wound is deep, and a strange scent clings to his pelt. It is uncertain what animal attacked him, but what is certain is that it was large. The animal had been able to pick the apprentice up and shake him, causing rips in his skin. Worried about such an animal being so close to their camp, a patrol is sent out in order to track down and rid the clan of whatever it was that attacked Lovepaw.

Silverflame rushed to Lovepaw. "Lovepaw. What happened?" His voice, deep with concern. The apprentice was barely conscious, his pelt was covered with the scent... of a badger? Badgers never come around here, but there may have been one near the abandoned camp with all that freshkill lying around. He thought. "Quickly, Locketwhisper and Blazestep. Help me get him to Dragonswrath and Twilightbell. He needs treatment, then we'll figure out what to do about that beast." He gently grabbed Lovepaw by the scruff and lifted him up a bit.

Lovepaw was weak, to weak to stand as he collapsed upon the ground. The deep wounds around the middle of his body, left a trail of blood in his wake. It was some sort of bite wound, but the scent was rather strange. It was sort of similar to dog, but not quite the same. A deep groan emerged from his throat as was lifted by his scruff "Got... me..from behind" he managed to stutter out. He didn't know what it was that had attacked him. They had come out of no were, and he had been lifted into the air before he even knew what had grabbed him. If it had not been for a loud boom in the distance, the animal probably would have never let go. He had managed to get back to camp on pure addrenaline, but now that it was fading so was his strength.

Silverflame nodded solemnly as he lifted Lovepaw, acknowledging the young cat's words and helped him over to Dragonswrath's den. I'm going to need a patrol to find the badger. A couple of cats isn't going to be enough to take down an animal that large. I'm going to have to talk to Littlebird about this. He gently set Lovepaw down. "Lovepaw, can you tell me how far away from the abandoned camp was the beast?" he asked sternly.

The sounds of the beast still echoed in his mind, the high pitched yelps and yips. He had never heard anything so frightening in his life, nor had he seen what had attacked him. "In" was his reply to the cat holding before his grip on reality began to fade into darkness and he went limp in the warrior's jaws.
Littlebird slowly awoke to the smell of blood reaching her nose, she rose to her paws much to the protest of her two young kits as she tucked them in safely into the nest. She emerged into the warm sunlight, only to see a warrior carrying the injured apprentice. "Hurry, bring him this way", the young she-cat disappeared back into her den emerging with the needed herbs to treat such an injury. While she was still learning, she should at least be able to stabilize him until Foxstar returned. As she began to attend to his injuries, she looked up at Silverflame "What did he say before passing out?" the strange scent that clung to his coat made her scrunch her nose. It was like nothing she had ever experienced in SunClan or in WinterClan before [Its actually Littlebird and Foxstar that do most of the healing]

"In." Silverflame replied. "I can smell badger all over him. I remember the scent from when I was a young apprentice many moons ago." The memory of the large animal with black and white stripes chilled him to the bone, but he stayed resilient in front of Littlebird. "The animal is one of the fiercest animals I know. I would say about as bad as a fox. We're going to need plenty of cats to either kill or drive out it. I don't wish for any other cat to be hurt as badly as Lovepaw." He said sternly.

"I don't think this is the scent of a badger" she shook her head lightly as she began to clean his wounds, and bind them with cobwebs "and a badge wouldn't have left him alive, especially with no claw marks. This is the work of some other animal" her golden eyes only leaving the apprentice long enough to give him instructions "gather a group of experienced warriors that are available and head towards the abandoned camp to search for sign of this creature. Do not take any apprentices, it is to dangerous. Be cautious, something that could pick up and cause this damage with one bit is not something you will want to take lightly. Try to chase it away or kill the creature. We do not need this sort of threat on our sacred lands" [By the way, its not a badger... lol]

"I'll help." Though the tom's voice was soft, near nonexistent almost, there was a rare sort of light behind Electricpaw's eyes as he looked at Lovepaw, heart clenching at the sight of his littermate's injuries. He'd be okay, he had to be. Right?

The gray she-cat shook her head "It is to dangerous Electricpaw, what ever did this was able to take down your brother with a single bite. If you go with this patrol, your life will be on the line". The red apprentice moaned as she tightened the cobwebs around the painful bite wound. It would take a while to heal, and that was if it didn't get infected. His life was in real danger, but hopefully he would recover with the close attention.

Silverflame listened to Littlebird with concern.
"Well, what ever this animal is, it's too big for a single cat to handle, let alone an apprentice. I know you want to help your littermate, but the best things for you to do is to stay with Lovepaw and make sure he's OK."
He turned his attention to the matter at hand. "Who could you spare to help with the patrol?"

"Go ahead and take whomever is not already on patrol that is close by. We don't have time to waste searching for members. There should be at least four warriors going, more if you can find them" She turned her attention back to Lovepaw and Elecricpaw "You can help me for now, that way perhaps he will awaken quickly enough to tell us what happened"
