Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Would there be fireflies tonight? Last time she had led an evening patrol, the mystique of the fuzzy eve was heightened by an otherworldly presence of the fluttering bugs, stunning enough that they'd all but forgotten a NightClan guard was in their midst.
Now, with enough time having passed that the memory of subjugation could fade like the setting sun rays, Sunstar could only wonder if they would be treated to a similar sight tonight. This would mark the first dusk patrol since that night, but already the atmosphere was lighter, joy lilting on the breeze, and she could stride casually along at the head of the group of cats following her. They should have been hunting, but no one's eyes were snared by the roosting nightjars, instead searching for a glimpse of golden light.
"Look," voice a hush, the blue of Sunstar's eyes was washed out by radiant gold, the fireflies reflected in her gaze as they began to drift by.
