Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was the last snow of the season. Most of the remains had melted away by now, patches of deep viridians and moist brown interrupting the once all-white landscape, but there was a chill to the air that wasn't there before- that boded awful, terrible things ahead.
Sunstar's features were grave and drawn when she entered the nursery. It was much less crowded now than it had been when she was a kit, lording her title above each of her denmates' heads, but she supposed if she could turn Weevilspike of all cats into a proper soldier, she could make due with these maggots, too. "Wake up, mag- I mean, precious, ultra, super cute fluffy kitties," she sheepishly grinned at the ensuing eye rolls of the resident queens, "there's going to be a war tonight. Who thinks their ready for it?"
"War?" Meer yawned wide, his eyes squinted and dreary. "Who's gonna roar?"

Midnightkit looked up with a frown, her eyes still groggy. "What's a war?" she asked, the grumpy frown on her face was evident at being awoken from her nap, "can't we just go back to sleep?"
"I can go to roar!" meowed Sunrisekit, her gaze much more entertained than her introverted twin. "See," she meowed, before letting out a surprisingly loud noise that seemed too big to come out of her small frame. She glanced over to her sister, nudging her with her paw gently. "Your turn, Midnightkit!"
Sunstar hadn't woken the tom up. One of his signature qualities was that Zesty could sleep through just about anything, or at least, anything but the roaring of his denmates. One single chocolate eye opened and glanced between the others who had gathered. Realizing that Meer was already revving his engines, the white-and-black cat sighed slightly, before opening his other eye and standing up. He gave himself one shake to try to dislodge the sleep, before letting a smile slip to his face. "Are we having some sort of competition?"
Monsterkit shot up from where he had been crouching flat in his nest, watching the leader with interested, narrowed eyes, “It’s not roar, idiots — it’s war.” He rolled his eyes, knocking into the slowly gathering kits to stare up at Sunstar, tilting his head.
“Who are we going to war with? Oh — I think Midnightkit would be the first to die, especially when all she wants to do is sleep right now,” he padded up to her, staring down at the sleepy lump, and gave her a quick, rough tap, ensuring (as his civil duty stated) that she would not be falling back asleep.

Midnightkit's annoyance was reflected in the flick of her ear, ignoring even the roar that left Sunrisekit's mouth, but as Monsterkit tapped her, the irritation shifted into a lash of her tail...and the way her paw immediately latched out and yanked at Monsterkit's other paw in order to knock the other cat off balance.
"Keep your paws to yourself!" she snapped, opening one eye to glare at the other kitten. Ugh, were all the other kits always so loud and handsy?
"Yeah, don't touch her!" Sunrisekit hissed, coming immediately to her sister's defense. This wasn't typical behavior of the she-cat, but she was the only cat who had permission to push around Midnightkit. Even then, though, she probably would have stood up for any of the other kittens, so long as it gave her a chance to fight her mortal enemy. "You have germs and we wouldn't want them to spread and infect the others, would we? So paws off, ugly," she snapped, temporarily forgetting that Sunstar was right there observing the interaction.
He bristled defensively, "buzz off! I was just making sure she didn't fall asleep again," he whipped towards Sunrisekit, "and I don't have germs and I'm not ugly!" He would totally be leaving bugs in her nest later, he decided, stalking off towards Sunstar again. Sister-pacts, truly the worst thing ever invented. Maybe Sunstar would get them in trouble or something for their rudeness, and he would get to laugh.
Unfortunately for Monsterkit, the flame-point leader was more amused than anything at Sunrisekit's actions. The kit reminded her a lot of herself, after all, and she was very, very fond of herself. "Anyway, ignoring... whatever's wrong with Monsterkit, we're going to war, not roar. Do any of you know what a war is?"

Midnightkit looked up with a frown. "Isn't that what the warriors talk about at the gathering? They said something about war with Night....NightClan or something? Is that like a party?" She didn't know what it was, but she assumed it was something important if the warriors were always talking in hushed tones about it.
"It's exactly like a party!" exclaimed Weevilspike, sliding into the nursery on his back and throwing out his forepaws as he skidded to a stop at his sister's paws. "We had such a good time with the last one - we partied in the sea, we partied in the camp, and some cats partied so hard that they died!" He suddenly looked up at Sunstar, expression growing grim. "Sky ants?" he asked, like it was an invasion force. The way she'd drilled him when they were kits, it was. "ETA? They always approach from the east... We'll be ready for them." He looked away with a hundred yard haunted glare.
He hated the sky ants. They'd taken something precious from him and he was going to get it back.
He grumbled to himself and shot everyone an individual dirty look, glaring as if he were planning to kill them all (maybe. . . no, he couldn't). As Midnightkit spoke, he moved forward, shoving her roughly, "no, idiot! It's a big fight and cats die there. That's not a —" Weevilspike cut him off, giving him a confused look, eyebrows lowered to give him an angry, concentrated look, like he was trying to figure out what he was talking about. Was Monsterkit wrong? No, Monsterkit was never wrong.
"What are you talking about?" He asked, voice less aggressive than he expected. "How do we go to battle with ants? I'll just squish them all with my mighty paws." He stomped all four on the ground, tiny ant screams sounding in his head.

Midnightkit glared at Monsterkit, gritting her teeth in anger as she lashed her tail. "Yeah, I'd step on them too," she retorted, flashing her sister a look that only she'd understand, "step on them like this!"
She immediately slammed a paw onto Monsterkit's tail as hard as she could with a satisfied smirk.
