Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Straybullet?" Meadoweyes called as she entered the medicine den. The two had only just been appointed together, and she figured she should try to get to know the tom. The feline twitched her whiskers as she was met with the smell of herbs and earth. It was strong, but it didn't bother her. It felt a bit.. comforting even.
"Yeahuh?" Straybullet turned around to see Meadoweyes, his partner in crime. No, not crime. They were definitely not going to be committing any crimes. That would not be a very medicine cat-like thing to do. "How goes it out there, Meadoweyes? Anyone die? Tree fell on someone? Sudden greencough outbreak?"
Amusement flickered along her face as he spoke. "No, no. I think all is well with the clan currently." She mewed lightly, sweeping her violet eyes along the rest of the medicine den. It was a bit messy, and the pair had a lot to do for cleaning up after the previous medicine cats. That was for sure.
Straybullet clicked his tongue. "Ah, well. I suppose that's good, then. I'm just a little paranoid someone's going to die right under our noses on our first day on the job and we'll be fired. But that won't happen. Probably." He cast his gaze across the ground, noting the herbs splayed out all across the floor of the medicine den. "Looks like the previous guys didn't do a great job keeping the place neat and tidy, huh? Should we clean up?"
Meadoweyes blinked, but understood his concern. It was a bit scary to simply be thrown into a position and to have a whole clan depend on you. At least she had a partner, and was not alone in the weight. As he mentioned the previous medicine cats, she shook her head. "Or perhaps in their absence, kits came in here to play. You never know." She mewed, attempting to be positive about the situation.
"It looks like they were gone for a while.. some of the herbs here seem rotted." She commented, using her claw to pick black leaf to the side.
Straybullet's nose wrinkled as he pushed aside something that had once been a herb. A part of it flaked off under his paw, leaving little crumbles of leaf scattered across the ground. "You're right. I think we'd kill more cats than we'd help with some of these herbs," he said, ever the optimist. "You wanna take a scenic walk and look for some more?"
Straybullet groaned as he stretched out his limbs. "God, my back hurts," he grumbled. "I need to get one of the kits to walk across it or something as a massage. Alright, I'm ready to go."
Her head tipped to the side ever so slightly. "Perhaps we need to make ourselves some new nests. We can search for some nice moss and other things while we are out." Meadoweyes offered, as she too felt she didn't sleep too well in that rather old nest.
