Hello everyone!

Every year SunClan holds a Romance Festival (typically) during the month of February!

This year it will be taking place from February 14th to March 14th!

Unfortunately SunClan's soon to be leader Crimsonrose isn't aware of this event (and SunClan itself is dealing with losing their stronghold of Janus knowledge in the earthquake along with a great deal of their clan members).

But the show must go on! Resilientbloom has decided that SunClan can't afford to miss this glorious event (and the possibility of some new litters being born). Plus, with new members joining up thanks to Crimsonrose taking over, the perfect opportunity for everyone to get to know each other is to engage in some valentine’s day themed events!

Much like in romance festivals in the past, all threads in SunClan will allow cats to gain points in order to win the title of Cupid for the year!

The character with the most points will receive the title of Cupid (until next year), along with being granted the right to wear a unique special paint symbol of two swans with intertwining necks on their pelt, and only Cupid will be allowed to wear it.

Every post made in SunClan that includes a character will grant them a point, regardless if it’s done as part of the Romance Festival Events.

And speaking of romance festival events the following events will be taking place!

♥SC Staff Created Threads:->

Blind Dates(30 or 50 points) On this thread sign your single cats up for a blind date! Resilientbloom will pair them up with another single cat and a SC staff member will create a date thread for the two of them. This is perfect for those that are having trouble finding a mate, or if you just want to add a little spice to their life. If your character goes on a blind date you will receive 30 points. If the two characters set up on the blind date end up officially dating throughout the romance festival you will receive 50 points.

Singles Mingle(20 points) As the sun begins to rise, single toms will enter into the maze of tunnels near the Janus camp while the single females enter into the tunnels near SunClan's main camp. It is said that if you come across another single cat in the tunnels that you are fated to be together. Who meets with whom will be decided by a random number generator. Single cats that participate in the singles mingle will get 20 points

Mate Choosing Ceremony(30 points or 50 points) - At sunset the cats interested in becoming official mates and engaged, gather at the ceremony springs. When the Matchmaker gives the command, she-cats who wish to participate will be released to make their run back to camp. They will get a five minute head start on the toms. Toms will then be allowed to chase after the she-cat(or tom) they desire. If you wish for a character to be your character's mate, first you must capture and pin them. If they accept you, then they will place her nose against yours. If the other cat doesn't accept you as their mate, you must release them immediately so that they can continue their run. This is supposed to be a way for cats to show and impress the cat they want to be with. For participating you get 30 points, and for couples that accept their new mate will get 50 points.

♥Mini Games/Events->

Only Half a heart - The clans kits have been charged with passing out heart shaped leaves that are torn in half. Each leaf has another half, and when you find the other half of your heart you have to give them a kiss(kiss on the cheek counts). For each leaf your kit passes out you earn 5 points. For every one of you warrior/apprentices that takes one you get 5 points. You get an addition 5 points if the two characters kiss. Who kisses who will be decided by a random number generator tommorow night. Good luck my friends <3

Love song contest(30 points - 50 points to winner) fill in the blanks, and create a love song for your crush/mate/spouse. Do this from the perspective of one of your characters

Looking For Omens(10 points) - a shallow pool of water has been created in a dip in the sandstone. It has been covered with floating rose petals, and hidden inside are stones inscribed with a image facing downwards. The rock you choose is said to be prophetic for what your character will experience during the romance festival. Create your own omen for your character's love life. Limit two per rper for points.

Sound Of Your Voice(20 points) - mated couples and those that are dating are blindfolded and wear a collar of flowers to disturb their sense of smell. They have to find their mate from among the crowd by the sound of their voice

These are threads that you can create or other ways to earn points. To earn points for the things in this category you must post reply below in this format before March 14th. You can only earn points for things that happen between February 14th and March 14th.

Gift Giving(20 or 30 points) Be sure to find the perfect gift for that perfect special someone in your character's life. Each character will be able to give their significant other/crush a special gift for a total of 20 points. If your gift is very thoughtful/creative you may even be able to earn up to 10 bonus points by SC staff

New Couples(15 points) - New couples that get together during the romance festival will receive an extra 15 points, so get out there and find yourself a mate/fling. These points will not be given out to couples that are already together, as the goal is to get more litters/families in SunClan.

Date Threads(10 points)- I encourage everyone to create a date thread for their existing couples. You will receive two points for every reply you make to your date thread that is more than five sentences. You may only make one thread per couple/fling and you must have the other person respond between each of your replies. You will need to work with your mate/fling in order to get the most points. Threads started before February 14th will not count

Pregnancy/Kittings (30 points) If your character becomes pregnant during the Romance Festival than you will receive 30 points when they tell their mate/fling the exciting news. Any Kitting threads made during the romance festival will also get you 10 points for every kit that is successfully adopted and added to the SunClan joining thread. You will also receive the same amount of points if your couple decides to adopt a litter of kits and bring them to SunClan(one litter limit per character)

Adoptable Characters (10 points) - for every SunClan adoptable that you create, that are adopted and added to the SunClan joining thread by another roleplayer you will receive 10 points. Adoptable that you create and adopt yourself do not count.

Bringing in New Members(40 points) - Don't have a mate within SunClan? Don't worry. If you are able to convince your mate/fling to join SunClan and go through the joining process before the deadline of March 14th, then you will receive 40 points. Any new members added during this month will also get these bonus points.

Mommy/Daddy and ME Dates(20 points) - Family is very important to SunClan, so one tradition that helps bring the families of SunClan closer together is mommy and me and daddy an me dates. Each parent takes their kit out on a special 'date'. This could be a hunting trip, a camping trip, or even as simple as just eating a meal together. This bonding time is considered very important between parent and child, and used to catch up on current events going on in each other's lives. For each of these your character goes on you will receive 20 points.

Obligatory sibling/family (even if not blood) bonding(20 points) - With the earthquake taking out so much of the clan, many cats have lost their parents or even their entire families. There are some bonds that may not be romantic, or parental, or familial. These events are ‘dates’ where two cats that are close enough to be family go do something to commemorate their bond that survived one of the worst disasters to hit SunClan.

A romantic dinner(15 points) - while parents are out enjoying the festivities, kits are in charge of creating a "romantic dinner" for their parents. Yes this should probably go just as badly as it sounds.

Cupid:
The top point earner for warrior gets the title of Cupid. They get a special paint symbol to wear, and bragging rights for a year

Eros:
The top apprentice point earner gets the title of Eros. The get no chores for a moon, and first pick of the fresh kill pile.

Cherub:
The top kit earner gets the title Cherub. They get a box full of toys and treats from twolegs.


Other awards:

There is also going to be a yearbook type thing with different categories that you all are going to vote on for the winner. The winners of these will get extra 50 points towards the titles. We will take nominations for these the last week of the romance festival and you all will have the weekend before 3/14 to vote for the winners.
