Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Windchaser emerged out of the Keepers Mansion and out into the chilly morning air. The rising sun cast golden rays over the snow blanketed earth and she had to squint to see. Icicles hung from the trees and dripped as the sun began to melt them. She hoped Greenleaf came soon. She stretched, arching her back then shook out her ruffled fur. The ginger she-cat was finally feeling herself again. It had been a few sunrises since their escape from Sunclan and Windchaser still hadnt gained all of her weight back but she knew she was capable of hunting for her clan.
Sniffing the crisp air, she scented a squirrel. Excitement bubbled up inside as she crouched down, inching forward ever so slightly until she saw her prey scurry out into the open. She flexed her claws and wriggled her haunches. She launched and landed squarely on the squirrel and killed it instantly with one killing bite. It was scrawny but at least it would help feed her clan. She scraped snow over it and searched for more prey.
Firstpaw left the mansion behind her, tail twitching. She gave a respectful dip of the head to the other cat as she passed. "Nice catch." She remarked.
"To hunt." She mewed. "My sister and I did not endure the same horrors as all of you, yet the Clan still took us in. It's only right that our extra vitality goes towards returning the favor." Firstpaw mewed thoughtfully. Realizing she was rambling, she flicked her ears back apologetically.
Firstpaw's eyes widened in appreciation. "Oh! That would be marvelous! I don't really know the best places to hunt yet, so some guidance would be much appreciated!"
"Sure! She bounded over to the apprentice, her paws sinking into the snow, creating little paw prints. "Want to see if we can catch a swan?" Her green eyes lit up. "Im not sure if they are there because of the snow but we can go see!"
She nodded, "definitely better to hunt in pairs with swans!" They began to near the Endless Falls. They could hear the sounds of the waterfall echoing through the trees. She crouched and slipped silently to the waters edge under a bush and peered out. A flock of swans were huddled on the other side of the river. "There are some" she whispered to Firstpaw.
"There is a spot where the river narrows and we can jump across to the other side. Then we will separate one of the swans from the flock and catch it!" she explained the plan, her paws kneading the earth in anticipation.
Windchaser slid silently over to the narrow part of the river and hopped over it with ease. She circled around and crouched in a bush closer to the swans, making sure her scent was down wind. Miraculously, the swans hadn't detected them yet.
