Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(In her quest to teach her son about others and widen his views Ismene is taking him along to watch over Satu in her journey. She probably trust Eero the most out of either of her kits but he is just rather good at reading others and adjusting himself to situations and cats. Technically this thread is going on the same time as Satu's but this will be more a behind the scenes thread. What is happening when they aren't helping Satu.
It will be a good chance to explore their relationship and Eero's thoughts towards having to watch over his sisters, because he was either going to come watch Satu or be left behind to watch Louhi despite being the youngest. I was thinking maybe he could wander off on his own at some point and meet a stranger or spend a night with a different family and see their dynamics. If you have any ideas please share! I'm willing to help drive the thread and his development in whatever way you want. ]
Her black coat ruffled against the wind, further highlighting the orange cutting through it in streaks. Golden eyes watched her daughter disappear down the hill before she turned and started walking parallel across the ridge, dropping down a bit so should Satu turn around they would be out of her sight. "Come along Eero." She hummed to her son, waving a tail to beckon him to follow. She had almost decided not to bring him on this trip, to leave him behind with Louhi in hopes he would curb her trouble making. But she had no desire to force him to parent his sister in her place.
Besides, she wanted to take the chance to show him the world. To let him she his sister cut her place in the world; her own long planted fear making her fanatic about proving to him she-cats could be just as strong as toms. Even if she had no fear of him developing such a belief the desire to show it still prevailed. There was also a hope that would help him draw out of his shell a bit as well, Eero always having been her quietest kit. She didn't feel that he was falling back in development to his sisters; he just seemed to prefer his silence. But she wished he would know that sometimes there was a place for silence and sometimes one had to speak even if the first instinct was to keep their mouth shut.
"We will follow your sister and make sure she doesn't get into to much danger." She turned to give him a small smile. "And you and I will find our own teachings out here."

Eero was relieved he did not have to stay back and watch Louhi. She had so much energy that sometimes he felt it would be in vain for him to try and settle her. Plus, he always enjoyed taking walks with his mother. Casting his eyes up to her, he gave a faint smile and nodded before picking up his pace to match hers. It was frustrating how short his legs were right now. He knew they would grow, but it was taking so long. His eyes scanned the territory in awe. There was so much to see and learn that he wished he could absorb it all like the plants absorb sunlight. He narrowed his eyes to catch sight of Satu. She was making her own path through the undergrowth. Eero admired her tenacity but also felt a bit of fear that she will jump into trouble too strong for her to handle right now.
"Ismene, what lives out here in the woods?" He asked softly, tearing his gaze away from Satu for a moment to focus his attention back on the trees and creatures around them.
There was something soft in her at her sons voice, something warm at the simple act of being questioned by Eero. She considered her attachment to her kits could one day ruin her; but they were hers. The choice to have them might not have been hers but her choice to love them, to raise them, to nurture them had been all hers. It was a blessing that she got to answer these questions, got to walk beside them, lead them. Ismene dared not dwell on the thought that one day they would not need her to answer these things for them anymore. Perhaps naive of her to choose to bury the thought but it was also a choice that was all hers.
"There are often rouges or loners out here. With the city so close the woods provide a good place to supplement their hunting or a safer place to set roots. One might run into a kittypet or a dog as well; though they are rarer." She paused to consider. She didn't want to worry him but decided it was better to be completely upfront rather than to withhold things. "There are also racoons and foxes. Maybe even a twoleg or two. But we could just as well go these days with seeing nothing at all."

"Oh." Eero responded quietly, wondering how the woods could hold so much and be so quiet all at the same time. One moment these woods could be full of danger and the next they are silent. He squinted for Satu again and turned his attention back to Ismene. "How big is a fox? Do you think we could fight one off?"
"I would never dare fight a fox with you around little dragon." She laughed with a shake of her head. "It would target you immediately and it's bigger than I am. There would be to much difficultly in trying to keep myself between you and it so it didn't snatch you up in one bite and eat you." Flicking her tail she brushed it along his side.
"Not that I would allow it to eat you of-course. No if we see a fox we'll draw it away from Satu and then scale a tree. Though I suppose I should teach you to climb and hunt while we're out here." She paused in her steps and nodded. "Tell me what you smell." Antigone had never tried to teach anyone anything, in fact much of her own learning had been self progressed. But Eero was smart, she was sure with a little effort they could make good progress.

One bite? Eero's eyes widened and silently he vowed to never fight a fox unless he had to. Even then, it sounded like a group of adult cats were a better option for a fight with a fox than him and his mother. His heart warmed at the thought of being protected by Antigone. He was so lucky to have her as a mother. Not all cats were as fortunate.
At her question, he stopped for a moment and scented the air. There were so many scents that hit his mouth, he wasn't sure where to start. "I smell Satu, pine trees....and, I think mice. There's something else too, but I am not sure what it is." His eyes turned back up to her out of curiosity.
She paused to take in the scents around them and paused. Taking a deeper breath she considered before she let the wind brush through her fur and gave a little nod. "You are correct, there is a mouse somewhere nearby." She choose not to mention the scent he couldn't identify. Antigone had no desire to worry him and with the wind blowing as it was the badgers scent was farther off. As long as Satu didn't head in that direction and the wind didn't change during the night they would be fine.
Besides from what she knew badgers were often nocturnal and as such there should be no reason to be concerned by it's distant presence. "When you hunt half the battle is staying quite and down wind. With mice they are more likely to hear you than scent you coming."

Eero tried to read his mother's expression, but couldn't tell what she was thinking regarding that strange smell. Maybe she didn't smell it or it wasn't a big deal? He scented the air again, honing in on the mouse. He gave a nod and dropped into an awkward crouch. This was how he thought it looked, but it felt off somehow. "Is this right? It feels weird." He meowed quietly, shifting his paws to try and find his balance.
