Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The unfamiliar small kitten had her tail pointed straight and her butt up in the air as she kept her eyes planted on her prey. Her tiny claws sunk into the soft ground under paw and her tongue slipped out of her muzzle as she hyper fixated on the creature. This time she would catch the prey! Her form was impeccable! Several seconds passed by before she finally leapt forward and sunk her tiny claws into... nothing. She sunk her claws into nothing. Instead her nose hit the ground with a harsh smack. The seconds ticked by as she stayed face-planted in the dirt before eventually dislodging her muzzle from the muck. "Thaft hurtst!" She suddenly sounded like an elder with severe allergies. The brown and white kitten pawed at the dirt that was now stuck in her nose as her blue glare quickly fixated on the yellow butterfly that had fluttered to a flower that was only a few paw steps away. My arch-nemesis! I will catch you yet! The kit thought to herself.
She crouched back down into a hunters crouch as she prepared to leap a second time... or was this a hundredth time? Truly she had lost count of the amount of times that she had face-planted in pursuit of this evilness, just like how she had lost track of where she even was and the unfamiliar scents of other cats that lingered in the air.
Another brown and white tabby kit had wandered a ways from camp, having already been on so many family outings he just assumed it would be okay to go off on his own. His nose was to the air, ears perked, as he listened to the forest around him. The soft sound of birds in the trees caught his attention, but when an unfamiliar voice broke the natural silence he nearly jumped out of his own skin. Harvestkit followed the noise, peeking his head through the brambles a few feet away from the unfamiliar kit. Contemplating his options, he gave himself a mental shrug. What would it hurt?
“What are you doing?” He asked, stepping out of the brush to confront the she-kit.
The she-kit turned her gaze from the butterfly to the kit who had just appeared. She had not even sensed his presence nearby, and she was already impressed by that fact alone. "OH HI!" Her attention was quickly lost as she bounced towards Harvestkit with a toothy smile upon her muzzle. "Impressive! I didn't even hear you approach!" She said in awe. The way she was talking would have made anyone else listening in on the conversation believe that Harvestkit was some kind of reincarnated god with soundless paw steps, when in reality the little brown and white feline was a simple child who hardly paid attention to her surroundings and was almost always hyper-focused on something that would usually fall into the background for most other cats.
Having not expected such a reaction from the stranger, Harvestkit grinned sheepishly. “Uh, thanks?” He said, golden eyes focused on the newcomer and warm with the clear excitement that was radiating off the other kit. “I guess you kind of get used to sneaking all the time,” he added as an afterthought. Glancing back to see that the butterfly had disappeared, he sat down and neatly wrapped his tail around his paws. “Who are you, by the way?”
"The name is Tiny!" She swished her own tail around her paws and mirrored Harvestkit's sitting position. "I was just out here hunting this pr-" she turned towards the Butterfly which fluttered away once her attention had been drawn from it. "Awww man! I had been hunting that weird winged creature for A LONG TIME!" She stated with a pout. "Oh well, what's your name?" She asked, the disappointment quickly disappearing.
His golden gaze followed the path of the butterfly for a few moments before he turned back to the other kit. It was clear by her name and her unfamiliar scent that she wasn’t a Fallclan cat. “My name is Harvestkit,” he said once he finally spoke. “Where are you from?” He asked out of curiosity, eyes clearly showing just that.
"Harvest...kit? Huh, interesting name! Why did your mom add the "kit" at the end? I think it is pretty obvious that you are one!" Tiny pointed out with a confused expression on her face. The confused expression deepened once Harvestkit asked where she is from. "Where I am.. from? Well, I am from here, silly!" She swished her tail at the surrounding area where trees grew tall and barren due to the winter. To her the answer was a direct answer to the question, except she had no idea that the woods she was currently in was not the same ones she had been born in.
Golden eyes widened slightly before returning to their normal, patient appearance. He had to remind himself that apparently there were cats out there who didn’t know about his clan. “Every kit in the clan has it in their name, and once we become an apprentice it changes to paw, and then we get our full warrior name once we’re old enough,” he explained, gauging her reaction. “You’re in Fallclan territory, so I think you might be a little lost..” Harvestkit added, glancing around the area.
"What is a... warrior?" She asked. Her head was titled to the side as she stared at Harvestkit with a puzzled expression. The puzzled expression only worsened once Harvestkit mentioned that she was in Fallclan territory. "What is a fallclan?" Although this would be a scary situation for most cats Tiny seemed more curious than she was scared of the situation she was in.
BRB while I cry because my response never posted and just disappeared
“A clan is where a bunch of us cats live together. We take care of each other and work together to build families and such,” the young Tom meowed almost matter of factly. “Warriors are the ones who fight and hunt for us all,” he added, sweeping his stripped tail along with his words as a way of expression. “Do you have other cats where you came from?” Harvestkit asked, unsure if he was crossing a line with the question but asking anyways.
"Wait! So a a BUNCH of cats live where you do?" Tiny asked excitedly as she began to bounce on her paws around the other kit. "Maybe my mama is at this Fallclan!" She screeched, her tail lashing enthusiastically behind her. "We must go to this Fallclan now, so we can find my mama!"
Her outburst nearly scared the daylights out of the young Tom, but he quickly recovered and his fur that had begun to stick up began to lie flat once more. He thought it over for a moment, and figured it couldn’t hurt. Family was important to him, and no one should be left alone. What if her mom really was in the clan? “Ok, you can come back with me,” he confirmed, his head tilting back the way he came to indicate which way they should go.
Heading in the direction he’d mentioned before, he gave a small shrug. “I’m usually confined to the nursery and what not since I’m not allowed to wander so I don’t know much, but my family is really great and I think that the whole clan is some type of family.” Harvestkit meowed, his thoughts somewhat drifting as he rambled. “I think it’s pretty cool, you’ll like it!”
"Ohhh I am so excited!" Tiny squealed as she skipped alongside Harvestkit. Her ears perked up when Harvestkit had mentioned his family that resided in Fallclan. "You have family too?! Oh tell me about them, Harvestkit!" She pleaded. As time went on it became increasingly more clear that Tiny knew little about the world considering she didn't know that all cats have to have a family to exist.
A kind smile formed on his maw as he nodded his head. His family was very family oriented, and it showed in the way that he always seemed to care for others. “My mom is in the clan, and my aunt, and Calamityshrine too! I’m the oldest of my siblings, I have one sister and three other brothers!” Harvestkit spoke proudly. They were getting close to the camp, so he slowed his pace slightly.
