Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
[ If anyone reads this and wants their cat to be his ex-love interest message me or just pop in to say so! The only thing is it must be a she-cat who currently has a mate/kits. Or had a mate and kits. - Childe ]
The southern sea churned under the stormy sky, the cold waters ate at the beach and the posts holding up the half bridges he was perched upon. Occasionally the ocean spray leaped towards him, trying to chill him and perhaps pull him down but always falling short. Flexing his toes his claws dug into the wood as he looked out across the waters that seemed endless but that the coast guards would report were actually not.
Today it looked bleak and terrifying, a monster raging against its confines, eager to claim the land and what was held outside it's reach. But perhaps that was simply the weather driving it mad, the snow flurries melting along his fur before they could build a new coat of white. He wondered if he should start heading back towards camp where he could cuddle into the moss and warm himself. But as the thought came to be it was just as quickly shoved away. A cruel reminder that he had no one to share warmth with since she turned her back on him.
Perhaps he should be making a further effort to branch out but he had spent so much of his time since kithood attuned to her he wasn't sure he knew how to make new friends, or even how to socialize with his clanmates. The more he lingers on it the more shame he felt towards his own lacking. It was shameful, Cloudweaver was already a warrior and he had nothing to show for it.

Ravenmask padded along the sandy shore and watched the waves roll in and lap against the soft sand. He liked coming here and was glad he was chosen to be a captain of the new Coast Guard. He had been a member of the Red Guard for several seasons and knew he was going to like his new role. He just seemed to be drawn to the sea and couldn't wait until the warmer weather when he would be in charge of teaching others about swimming and fishing. Right now his main job was keeping the shore clean, which wasn't hard because of so few twolegs were around this time of year.
Just then he noticed another cat along the shore and made his way over to him. When he got closer, he recognized the tom as a clanmate. "Hi there, Cloudweaver! What brings you to the beach today?"
"Oh Ravenmask." Cloudweaver spoke, having jerked a bit in surprise at the others voice. He glanced back out over the water as he considered before deciding to let his emotional burdens rest for the moment. "I was simply admiring the water. It's fascinating how wild it can be and yet so tamed and confined at the same time. If that makes sense."

"It does," the black and gray tom mewed, his gaze going out over the sea. The angry waves were beating hard against the shore causing a mist to fill the air with each splash. Small droplets of water were forming on Ravenmask's coat. "And just yesterday the water was much calmer, gently rolling onto the beach. One thing's for sure, it's never boring here." He thought he'd feel isolated at the shore when he was first chosen to be a the Coast Guard Captain but not so much now. It seemed like many clanmates made their way to visit the sea.
"So you enjoy your job then?" Cloudweaver asked, turning and watching the other tom curiously. He couldn't see devoting oneself to the beaches, in truth he rather disliked the water. He longer coat made getting wet a hassle and he often found himself gravitating towards the trees or shade. Sometimes he considered if he might have other clan blood in his veins for how often the thought struck him that Summerclan often felt not quite the right fit for him. "Do you often find yourself busy?"

"Oh, I keep myself busy," he replied. "But it's not hard work because I enjoy what I'm doing." A larger wave than most just then crashed hard against the shore sending up a salty spray of water. "I take my time at what I do because I have all day to do it. Any twoleg trash I come across I take over to those bins." He waved his tail toward a group of trash cans. "I'm also building my new nest in the lighthouse and collecting any seashells I like to add to my collection." Around his neck was a small vine same as the clan used for wearing flowers only his was adorned with colorful shells.
"So how about yourself? Do you like what you do for our clan?" He was hoping to gather some new recruits but he figured this tom wasn't too interested but it never hurt to ask.
Cloudweaver gave a one shouldered shrug and tilted his head with a crooked little smile, "I can't say I feel passionately one way or another if I am to be truthful with you." Glancing away he turned his blue eyes upwards instead and thought on his own words. "Sometimes I wonder how much of a difference I truly make, one cog in a machine that will keep turning even without me. It's a humbling thought but it is one I have been having often recently."
Realizing how depressing his words came across he blinked and looked back towards Ravenmask. "I think it's just winter melancholy, the coming spring will do me good. That or I'll have to go on a journey to remind myself how much I do love my home."

"I'm sorry you feel that way," Ravenmask meowed as he looked at Cloudweaver. "You may be right about Newleaf coming though. It always cheers me up when the cold season is finally over. But before that you might want to ask Sunstar if you could be assigned to a special group like I am. It may help you to feel you're contributing more to the clan than just being a warrior ... not that there's anything wrong with that," he quickly added not wanting to sound that being a warrior was subpar.
