Kellen smiled at the morning sun as it peeked over the horizon. It was a bit early for him to be awake, but he was responsible for a young soul’s training. In fact, it was his adopted niece, Paradise’s, time to learn. He wrapped his tail over his paws and smiled at the thought as he waited for her arrival.

Paradise, of course, was ecstatic. The she-cat was always overbearingly optimistic, to the point that she seemed rather naive most of the time, but that didn't seem to matter to the Tsar's adoptive daughter. She hadn't spent much time with Kellen before, but they were both Marli dedicates, so she had no doubt whatsoever that they'd get along swimmingly. Of course, it never occurred to her that she'd have been at odds with any of her mentors, it was just a bonus that their personalities aligned just so.
"Good morning!" The small calico cheered, flashing a bright smile as she skipped up to her uncle, excitement radiating through her body from head to tail.

"Good morning, young Kadet!" Kellen purred in response, ears pricking up excitedly as Paradise approached. "Are you ready to get started?" Truthfully, he had no idea what he was doing, but he figured they would make it up as they went along. His easy-going personality meant that planning was not his strong suit, which was probably a quality that got under Kerrigan's skin.

"Always!" The she-cat cheered, excited as ever. No matter what they did, Paradise expected to have fun. After all, how could she not? This was her training, when everything was new and fresh and wonderful, and anything could happen. She was exceptionally curious, to top it off, and her mind ran at a million miles per hour at all the possibilities the day might hold for them.

"Well, let's start the day with some exploring the territory and then we will finish it off with a hunting lesson." Kellen decided with a nod, happy to see how cheery and willing she was. This was going to be a joyful mentorship, for sure. "Have you seen any territory since you've been promoted?"
Paradise giggled slightly, nodding her head. "Of course! Why wouldn't I go exploring?" She questioned giddily, skipping around her mentor as if to demonstrate her point. "That all sounds perfect! I'm sure there's so much more to see and experience."
