Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
i feel like i should have some big intro post but i … don’t have energy. so i guess here it is.
this is a four page document that i thoroughly believe everyone should read and commit to. it was written in the middle of a large conflict, so the language is staff oriented. and, yes, i think that the staff of this cat site certainly does need to read it. but i’m also … concerned that non staff arguments will bubble up in the process of the next few weeks, and there have been plenty of times in the past where everyone has needed a reminder of this stuff.
i’ve begged a … lot in the last two weeks, and i’m kind it done groveling, but please read and consider my words. i genuinely think that this site could be significantly less a mess if we all just committed to each other and the terms in my demand list. the list probably isn’t all inclusive, but it’s a start. i also want to make a note that this was written from a place of nothing but love. as much as this site gives me grey hairs, i genuinely love it and genuinely want what’s best for it. i was writing from that space of love. this is not s call out. i don’t believe in call outs. what i do believe in is call ins, naming what is wrong and inviting change to be done. this is a call in. i am calling you all into the Classic i want to see.

ps : cleav said you all wouldn’t believe me if i kept the one liner at the top about this site making me cry but for anyone who cares i did cry 3 (three) times about a cat site so far this year and it’s the 13th LMAO
skimming your document right now ian (and will read it more thoroughly after my first skim). I really enjoy the principles you laid out and I think every single person on classic, myself included, can use these principles to take a long, thorough look inward and reflect on where they can grow and change in their communication skills and respect for others.

Also ian, at my job we call these documents "Ways of Working" and usually we usually come up with these commitments as a team before the start of any project or when we add new team members to the group. These are decided collectively and kept on our desktops for easy access. I love these documents because it is an agreement to each other. It puts people first <3
(on a side note, if the future new admin team would like to be coached through creating a "Ways of Working" document and have it facilitated by someone then I actually have a whole dang Agile certification and would relish to actually use this knowledge haha)
