Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ghostkit sighed happily as sank into the pile of fallen leaves, warmed all day by the sun's rays and undisturbed by anyone until now. So this was peace? Completely alone in a sunny spot all his own? There wasn't even a bird to be heard overhead and he couldn't remember the last time he had heard one on his way here. Closing his eyes he burrowed his face into his paws and even dared to let out a soft purr, inviting sleep to overtake him.
Chestnutkit stretched out in a long stretch, feeling the day's activities. She had been busy nosing around the medicine cat's den, attempting to soak in knowledge from the medicine cats, though she had been shooed off more often than not. A soft, almost silent sigh escaped her and she deflated slightly. Her paws felt heavy as she carefully basked herself in a patch of sunlight, not far from where Ghostkit lay. Chestnutkit didn't really notice him, her mind swirling with thoughts and emotions.
She may not of noticed him, but he unfortunately noticed her. There it was, another audible sound made by someone who had a problem they wanted acknowledged but, didn't want to say so. Honestly he didn't understand why others didn't just speak their minds. Opening his eyes he shifted them to focus on Chestnutkit. Already he could feel a sigh building in his own chest but managed to exhale before it became too much. He should just leave her alone, clearly she was working through some emotions and he should just leave her to it.
"What's wrong?" he asked after a moment, successfully fighting the urge to sigh in defeat at the fact he'd started a conversation.
The sudden break of silence made her jump slightly. "Oh, I'm sorry.. I didn't realize you were there," The she-kit mewed apologetically, feeling a bit guilty as she gazed in his direction and realized he must have been napping. "I just feel like I'll never get to learn the things I want to. The medicine cats aren't fond of me hanging around their den." Her complaints felt silly when she said them aloud - a kit's stubbornness to get what she wants. Her gaze lifted to a tree branch high above them, basking in the beauty of it, and feeling a wave of calm wash over her.
"What do you need them for?" he asked, moving into a long stretch, slowly rising to his paws. Gingerly he licked a forepaw and ran it over his eyes, trying to wash the sleep from them. He did wonder how his den-mate managed to miss his black and white pelt among the leave, though he was pretty small, and easy to overlook. He smiled softly to himself at the notion of actually being invisible to his clan-mates before returning his attention to her.
"You can teach yourself about herbs and berries, you just have to eat them to see what they do. Carefully though." he added after considering his own words for a moment.
The kit paused, letting his words sink in. He was right. Chestnutkit spun to look at him, her eyes gleaming. "I can't believe I didn't think of that!" She exclaimed, excitement ruffling her fur slightly. "You wanna experiment with me?"
At that his eyes lit up. Ghostkit had also been eyeing the many different kinds of herbs he'd passed in the forest, deep down he wondered what they tasted like and what they did. It was stupid, to willingly want to tempt fate with the unknown but, how was he ever supposed to know what they did otherwise? Yes, he supposed he could just wait until he was older and ask but where was the fun in that?
A mischievous glint hit the she-kit's eye. "Well, should we..." Chestnutkit lowered her voice to an almost inaudible whisper. "...sneak into the medicine den..?" Her eyes darted to and fro, making sure no one was listening to the furballs.
