Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Crownglass paused, his head swinging around as he listened. There was a mouse somewhere nearby, but he wasn't sure where. When he was struck by lightning, he had been lucky to survive, but it had left him half-deaf, and he was still growing used to his hearing only working in one ear. It was trickier than he expected.
As he narrowed in on the prey, he smiled, then turned to
Staying deathly quiet Ivoryatrament watched from a nearby tree, almost afraid to even breathe as her clanmate honed in on the mouse. She knew how hard his recovery had been and how far he'd come since then. She wasn't going to be the one to ruin this moment for him by scaring away his prey. Even if it meant suffocating in the process
He slipped lower into his crouch, easing forward step by step; he still hadn't found the mouse exactly but he didn't want to scare it off. Finally the distance between them closed and he spotted the tiny creature: stuck fast beneath a large fallen branch. It wiggled fiercely as he drew near but couldn't find freedom.
Crownglass paused, drawing up to look at it. He kinda felt bad for the small thing.
What was he doing? Ivoryatrament's muscles began to ache from being so poised, and her lungs began to burn from the lack of oxygen. She couldn't just let out a loud gasp and risk spooking her clan-mates prey, not after he'd worked so hard to catch it. For StarClan's sake! was that pity on his expression? The statue of Ivoryatrament didn't move a muscle but, her eyes visibly swirled in their sockets with sheer exasperation. Surely she could last a few more moments?
He took a deep breath and finally he leaned in and finished the prey off, holding it gently with a paw and killing it painlessly. Then he pulled it carefully out from where it had been stuck, bracing himself against the fallen branch to try and roll it out of the way.
