Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Honeycream was sadden but also joyous. How could one be both? Well one of his mates was dying and the other was pregnant. all the tom could seem to do was be there for them and love them all that he could in the time they had left. He prayed Faithfulfeather would make to the birth of Ivorysnow’s kits. The tom wandered into the flower fields, the place his paws always shook him to when his mind was busy. Though, he was startled at the sight of another already there.
Shatteredreign had only just recently returned to the clan, and a lot of thing seemed to have changed in the moons that he was gone. Refamiliarizing himself with the territory should have been one of the first things that the silver tabby did, and technically he was, but that wasn't what had brought him to the flower fields this time. In his mouth, he held a small, round coin, the normally metallic surface had been dulled with age, giving it a rather ancient appearance. He had been searching for a place to store it when he heard pawsteps behind him, and he swung around to meet Honeycream.
"Ah... hello," he muttered, gaze dropping from the other tom to the antique in his own mouth. What an awkward situation.
“My apologies. I didn’t mean to startle anyone. Afraid my paws were doing the leading today.” A slight blush was on his face but he smiled nonetheless. Honeycream flicked his tail in awkwardness before clearing his throat. “Well, I supposed I’ll move along then….”
Shatteredreign had almost been about to let Honeycream leave again, but something in the tom's eyes had caught his attention. Gently, the silver tabby placed the coin on the ground between his toes, then called out, "Wait! if you're not busy, I could definitely use a helping hand." He had a grin on his face, his tail swaying behind him as he tilted his head to the side.
“Oh, I…we’ll if you need help then certainly.” It was a better distraction than allowing his mind to wander at least. Honeycream stepped closer to the tom, his cream fur short and soft and he took a seat next to Shatteredreign. Personal space had always been a problem for him, even now with a near stranger.
The tom tilted his head towards Honeycream, a slight hint of surprise in his golden eyes, but he said nothing about the space. Instead, he looked around, the movement slow and deliberate, as he spoke. "You see, it's been quite a bit of time since I was last here, and I can't seem to remember my way around the territory. You don't have to give me a whole tour, I'm sure you have better things to be doing, but would you know where a good place to hide something would be?"
“I’m quite familiar with this particular area.” The tom was always out here and knew practically every inch of the fields. “Anything in particular you looking for? I know if some flowers taht are still blooming and only bloom at Thai time of year if that interests you.”
Shatteredreign blinked, his gaze pausing on the flowers in the field. Could he hide his coin here? Quite possibly, but it would be a bit harder to store other things if his collection were to grow. "Are there any rocks?" he asked. "I don't know how well a flower would work... Though they are quite pretty. I would like to see more."
“There’s an old rabbit den nearby. Just down that way.” He pointed his paw down the small hill they were resting on to where a tree log was rotting away. Under it was the den, barley big enough for a small apprentice to get into now.
Shatteredreign's gaze followed the direction of Honeycream's paw, narrowing his eyes until he decided that he would have to actually get closer to see it. Giving the tom a smile and a nod, he made his way down the small hill and to the rotting log. "It's abandoned now, right?" he asked, assuming that Honeycream had followed him as he circled around the log.
“Has been for moons. Don’t even think it was used last year come to think of it.” Honeycream rubbed his tail against his chin in thought, thinking back to the last time he saw anything in the den. “Suppose it could be close up to if you found a large enough stone. Keeps other critters out of it then.” The tom was sitting beside the log, eyes searching around them for a stone and not finding one.
