Her gorgeous grey-and-white fur was swept into a neat cape, a fluttering of orange flickering like a crown of embers around her throat; Limelight looked stunning, though honestly, she suspected the effort was wasted on this date.
(The blind ancient? Seriously?)
She waited at the hot springs with her paws in a neat line and a dapper fake smile on her face. Maybe he couldn't see her face, but it was easier to make her words honey-sweet when she was smiling.
"Oh, Brokensight, is that you?" she greeted, her ears flicking back at the sound of paws.
Brokensight had been led to the area by an student at his request. Poor Halfpaw now stood there awkwardly as she awaited to learn what she was to do now. The ancient, not quite old but too blind to leave camp on his own, had requested her assistance when she’d stepped into the tom’s den to clean. Now, she sat stiffly and awkward. Beside her, Brokensight stepped up, a slight frown on his face. He’d heard the voice calm out to him but he didn’t catch from what direction as he’d been more focused on following Halfpaw’s paw steps in the snow. His paws touched the sand area around the hit springs and he paused, head tilted to the side to listen.
