"Although my blood is Winterclans, it's bad," he stated, gaze shooting to the ground. The jarl flexed his claws. White. He sighed. "This was my father's place before me. He took me away from here when I was young to the place he came from. I returned here when I was told to complete what he started." He frowned but a chuckle escaped him, "My father, and his father, and those before have never been well liked. And I carry them on my skin."
What was this mysterious task he spoke of? Icedivy gazed at him, her eyes unwavering as she felt the tears turning in her head. She pondered what he could possibly mean, and even questioned wether or not she should pry. After a few moments of silence, however, she decided to ask. “What is it that was left unfinished?” Should she want to know? Would he even tell her? The frozen had now decided her appetite had vanished, but thankfully the two had almost finished the prey anyhow.

His gaze rose, and although he didnt wear a serious look to him, it was a hard look that he gave as he locked his eyes on hers. He stretched, reaching to touch her. "To lead. The one thing they were never able to do was to hold out long enough to do what they were chosen for." He explained, hoping it didnt sound too shallow. He dipped his head a little bit, keeping it there as he tried to read her, "My grandfather was in your position."
As he touched her, her ears wiggled a little. Unexpected was his response and she found herself a bit confused for a moment. Until it hit her, he meant death. They had all died before they became leaders. Her brows suddenly furrowed, and then he mentioned her position as a frozen. It was dangerous, and she found herself looking to her paws then. Icedivy didn’t want to die any time soon, and frankly hoped it wouldn’t happen for seasons. Yet... it was a possibility. Then she realized also that he meant he may not make it to become a leader. Which meant, his life might be short too.... she swallowed.

He gave a small smile, wondering what she was thinking about. As he watched her look about he rose a bit, shuffling so he was able to get closer to her. He butted his head against her shoulder, keeping it there with a low purr. His eyes closed, listening to her breathing as his purrs hushed, "What of you?" He asked, "Surely you had a goal before this?" He asked, his chin rested atop his paws next to her.
Her fear was temporary. The tom had easily masked the feeling she was experiencing. Icedivy managed a small purr in return to his, but it was soon slowed to a stop as she began to speak. “My father wanted me to rise in ranks as well.” She explained, leaving out the fact her mother was actually a prisoner. She truthfully, didn’t know much about her.

"You've done well then," he mewed, looking up at her, his tail tip twitching. He fell onto his side, his legs splayed out, cheek pressed against the ground. "You were born here?" He asked, looking up to the ceiling of the den with a sideways glance. He wondered what the sky looked like at this time, but wasnt going to make the effort to check.
“Yes.” It was a bit of a short response, but it was all the question needed. Icedivy yawned, her sharp teeth glinting in the faint light that managed to find its way through the mouth of the den. “What did you do, before you came here?” It was her way to direct the conversation back to him.
