The white apprenticed dropped the mouse at the paws of her mate before settling in beside of him in the makeshift nest that they shared. She had been delivering food mindlessly to cats as they returned back to camp. He was her only comfort, to ashamed to face either of his parents after what she had done. She was the reason her mom had died.... She was the reason her brother had died... Even if her mom had come back from the dead.
Heavy lids soon covered her bright blue eyes, and she snuggled in close to her prince.

His eyes were closed but he was not asleep, listening to soft sound of her footsteps as she approached their temporary nest. He wish they were still in their territory so he could dig her out a spacious den, decorated beautifully for the two of them to share, but this was the best they could do for now. She had been so quiet ever since her brother and her mother... He frowned in his sleep even as she pressed up against him without a word. A few moments passed and he sighed, giving up on the prospect of sleep. Too many worries crowded his mind. Opening his pale yellow eyes he rolled over gently to look at her.
"Are you sleeping?" He asked softly, knowing full well she was still awake. Unfortunately, he wasn't expecting much of an answer. The silence killed him every time because she knew that her silence was filled with pain.
