"Hey big brother" chirped Joypaw
The calico apprentice snuck into the nursery where she assumed her mentor would be watching over his kits "Fatepaw showed me this really cool move that he learned and I want to try. Can we go out and get some sparring practice?" she looked down at the kits who were already almost her size "and maybe hurry? Before one of the queens think that I am one of their kits" Jadie
Perfectstorm felt bad that his apprentice was the one who had to seek him out for training instead of the other way around, but he didn't dwell on it very long, "Sure, Joypaw. Let's head out to the forest for this one, so you have some good targets to practice using your claws on that aren't me... unless there is somewhere else you'd rather go?"

"That sounds like a good idea" she agreed eagerly, tail waving in the air in all of her excitement. She felt like the two of them hadn't got to spend a whole lot of time together since he had brought the kits back to SunClan, but that only made their time together more special "I don't really mind what we do, I trust you to teach me what I need to know" she put a lot of faith in her older brother, even though he and their mother didn't seem to get along. She knew a bit about what had happened, but she hoped in time they would come to get along
Perfectstorm nodded and lead his apprentice the short distance from camp it took to get to the forest. This time of year its colors more closely matched the desert, but it still have plenty of trees and shrubs and stones for practice of fighting in all different types of terrains.
"Today I'd like to teach you a bit about tree-climbing and fighting around them. Most of our neighbors have a lot more trees than us so, if you ever do fight yourself fighting in their territory, you've got to be prepared. Before we get started, though, I want to hear if you what you think the hazards might be fighting in this kind of terrain."
