Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Rowanstrike, wake up, we have a crazy task, which is to go hog hunting so get up," Blazingbluejay said before stepping back for him to get up and follow.
Hog hunting? Was he hearing that right? Still half asleep, the tom rolled over to find Blazingbluejay standing at his nest. A few blinks later she was still standing there. Rising to his paws slowly, he asked “what?”
"It's time to patrol, get up, rub that sleep out of your eyes and let's go. Because if you don't get going I'm going to be the one yelled at, not you," Blazingbluejay said pointedly.
Shaking out his fur after rising form his nest, Rowanstrike called out, “did you say hog hunting?” Why ever were they being sent on an impossible task? Hogs weren’t in this area, even he knew that and he hadn’t been born here. Stepping outside of the den, the tom became thankful for his long and thick fur. Winter was truly setting in and on the mountain too, it was unforgiving.
"Fat? Ugly? I have never come across one in all my travels so I have no idea." Rowanstrike gave her a strange look, one that just said this was a dumb trip.
"Super useful," Blazingbluejay remarked, uncertain why she always had to come off some negative or sarcastic, it was almost like an urge she couldn't fight, it felt more bitter to say nothing at all, like fire trapped in her lungs.
Leading the way Blazingbluejay stopped when she heard noises coming up ahead, "That could be a hog."
"Okayyy, um, we'll just go a little bit further then," Blazingbluejay suggested. Pointing to the rogue lands she continued on talking, "Over there, if we go deeper into the mountains along the west I bet we'll find more unique prey like hogs, right?"
“I suppose.” Rowanstrike was over this hunting trip. His gaze fell on the cat beside him for a moment before he asked. “Who told you to send us in this hunting trip anyways?” To his knowledge, he hated angered anyone enough to warrant a goose chance but that didn’t mean she hadn’t and that he was being punished for just being outsider born. Wouldn’t be the first time that’d happened.
"Alvah, but you know him as Howlingnight, I knew him before he was a fake," Blazingbluejay muttered sourly, "He's always treating me like I'm less then, but guess what? He has my blood, technically I'm his aunt even if he is older than me by a lot. But I'm only younger because, well, leave it Glowstar to not know when to stop having kits, I guess."
“Hmmm, I suppose.” Thai definitely sounded like a punishment now. Had Blazingbluejay infuriated Howlingnight into giving her a punishment and he was sent along to make sure we actually went? Rowanstrike hoped not but was feeling as though it was true. “At least you are near family in this clan.” He didn’t want to speak about before, didn’t what any inside information on Wintrystar’s family taht cousin become disastrous to know of. The tom wanted no target in his back thank you very much.
"They would never look at me that way, my only family is my mate and kits and even then... Well, you probably knew what happened to me, my kits don't look at me as their mother, they only see me as a monster, they want nothing to do with me. And at this point they're treated by the clan as demons so now that I'm officially accepted in WinterClan I'm at an even larger distance from my kits. They just see me as another WinterClan cat who hates them," She admitted.
Rowanstrike knew what had happened and he’d wisely chosen to stay as far away from that mess as possible. “I see.” Just what was he supposed to say to that? He was an outsider as well but he didn’t come into the coma with the same history as Blazingbluejay either and had had an easier transition because of that. “Why don’t w ruhst find this hog and head back? I’m sur e your best is calling your name as much as mine is.” Sleep, sleep would make this all seem like a dream.
