Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Oh thank goodness, thank-you Sen, a train is way more interesting than the zoo," Lucistic said stepping up towards a limousine, thinking that this was it.
She smacked herself in the face, giving a hefty sigh as she turned away from the limo and pointed towards the station. "This way, not the monster. This is way bigger than that. Come on." Sen headed into the station without checking to see if he was following, glancing around at the signs like she could read them, and then heading in what seemed like a random direction.
"Whoa, bigger than THAT, heh, Sen, you don't have to impress your brother with tales of fantasy. Nothing can be bigger than that except like... One of those jumbo monsters I guess," he said, thinking back about the few trucks he had seen on thunderpath back when DayClan used to live closer to the streets. Of course it was odd for him not to believe in a train when he had seen way more fantastical things than that.
"If you think that's the biggest monster there is, you're definitely going to think you've lost it when you see this." She padded towards a particular station, seeming to think it would lead them to the zoo for some reason, or maybe it was following the signs with animals painted on them. Either way, eventually, they were waiting at a platform, staring at tracks with twolegs milling about. "The train should be here in a few moments."
"A creature of habit, nice... Hey, how did uncle Sean even know about a train when he essentially lives under a rock?" He asked with a quirk of his lip, a devious demeanor dancing in his acid green eyes, "You don't think he fools around with other she-cats out there, do you?"
"I think if he did, he would have been dead a long time ago. Pretty sure he showed me this train before he and Aunt Shule got together, so maybe he did, who knows." Sen shrugged, "Maybe he just really likes avoiding his job." Right on time, the giant train pulled in, and Sen's ears flicked back, the screeching of the rails as it came to a stop in her ear.
Lucistic jumped at the sound, his claws out as he watched the train roar towards them. He just managed to hold back the instinct to grab Senescence and run. Unlike with monsters where the rule was they wouldn't leave the black path, this train didn't have a black path, so what would stop it from attacking everyone? But instead it stopped within the line of the metal tracks. "Oh... I guess it's just like a monster," He said thoughtfully before getting on board.
"Come on, in we go." Senescence pulled on Lucistic as the twolegs entered the train, tugging him up and into the belly of the monster. She climbed the steps up to the second level, sitting herself in one of the seats, and indicating he should sit in the other that was facing her. "Now we just wait until we get to our stop."
"Did you tell it our stop?" Lucistic teased with a mischievous smirk before facing the wind, "The world really does roll by doesn't it? Beats walking for sure, wow we're passing a lot."
"We'll know it when we get there." Sen assured, watching the window. "Yeah, it would take you days of walking to get to the places you can reach from one of these. You can get far enough no one would find you if you truly wanted to." Not that she knew anything about that.
"Hey Sen, why did you come back? Y'know to Primal Instinct, you didn't have to, we both hardly knew it," Lucistic said, glancing at her and then back to the window, "Just wondering if it's similar to my reasoning, but maybe condense it down to a short summary, we do gotta get off soon I presume."
"First place I thought of, I suppose." She answered, clearly not really giving it much thought. "That's pretty random to ask though, why did you come back?"
"It's not random, it's just that I always thought you stuck to Primal Instinct and DayClan because there's not much else out there. But..." he smiled back at her, "We're traveling at the speed of light over here. You could have gone anywhere. I came back while exploring and there were more things to explore in Primal Instinct than anything else I could think of. Probably because I didn't have a train to be tempted by."
"Who says I haven't seen all I'd like to see?" She countered, tilting her head. "I can travel as far as I want in days and back, and I've disappeared for longer without a word." Senescence's ear twitched as an announcement came on, a twoleg voice saying something, and the former proxy got up, waving her brother to follow. "If I can go anywhere at any time, why bother setting up a new nest when I have a perfectly fine one already."
"I get it..." Lucistic said with a knowing look and softened smile, "Innocentia's legs are too small for you to go anywhere worthwhile, it makes sense," He said with a laugh getting off the train, assessing the surroundings.
Okay, Sen was glad she was in front of Lucistic for that one, because she found it hard to suppress the smile across her features. That was a good one, but she simply let out a not-nearly-annoyed-enough sigh as she looked around, following the big arrow with what she presumed were zoo animals. "This way."
"You were the one who suggested the zoo." Senescence answered, as if it was obvious. "So we're heading to the zoo." Was he just oblivious, or had she actually just spent too much time on trains that she generally understood how to get places?
"Oh right for the..." He paused, already forgetting, but then suddenly leapt when he remembered, "OH! The polar bear meat, yeah," He exclaimed before more warmly repeating, yeah.
"We'll see what looks good. Preferably something that isn't covered with such thick fur I can't take a bite out of it." Senescence answered as they padded along. The signs simply continued, the numbers we weren't sure if cats could read getting smaller to indicate they were getting ever closer to the entrance to the zoo.
