Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Oh THAT, mansion, I thought you meant keepers mansion and was like, since when do you go in there. Okay, yeah, it's all adding up. I could go for a snack anyways," Lucistic nodded to himself.
"They might have something in there, but who knows if there's ghost kits. I didn't want to torture you." Sen hummed as the orchard came into view, and she peered around. The rocks were probably at the base of one of these trees...
"Mmm, mmm MMMm, good," Lucistic said, already making himself at home by leaning against the trunk of a tree, chowing down on a few apple slices he had already cut up for himself, "Not the way mama makes them, but still juicy. Let me know if you need me Sen."
Sen considered bonking him on the head, but honestly she was already chewing on her own apple as she swept her tail around the roots of the trees, looking for the flint and steel. She was on her third apple, and just about certain she'd lost the thing, when the glint of metal hit her eye. "Found em." She commented through her half full mouth.
"I happened to hear about it from some kittypets before. Apparently you can get all this in nature, but for the metal, it was easier to just steal it from twolegplace. The other rock I found near a river. The kittypets called it flint and steel." Sen made sure she was well away from a tree when she grabbed the rocks, striking the flint against the steel and sending an arc of sparks flying at the barren earth. Since it just went into a section of dirt, nothing was able to catch or potentially start a fire. "And that's how you use it. All we need is clumps of dry plants, maybe some type of fat if you want an easier time, and then strike this until a fire starts. Then you feed it with bigger pieces until it's out of control and you have a major fire.
"Like this!?" Lucistic asked holding out a tree branch that he seemed to place extra leaves on along with a caterpillar? Where did he even find that this late into the cold season?
"Uh, cove, I'm not getting haunted like you are," Lucistic smirked, "Have fun with that," He said as if for once he was being the responsible one by burning a beach so just a step above Senescence really.
"You act like you're not probably already haunted. But cove it is. Let's go." Sen was for some reason now dragging a small wicker basket of apples with her, probably something left the twolegs, or maybe she'd stored the basket in the area for this reason. Either way, the flint and steel was safely secured, and now they had snacks for the way.
Lucistic shivered when they got to the shoreline, "Whao, this place is intense in the winter, I guess we can probably spread out some more flammable material on the sand? I mean if we go to the tree line we'll risk it spreading out of control and I mean," He smirked, "I mean should we? That does sound like fun to see where the ocean winds take that fire."
"If you want hot enough to melt sand in to glass, we will probably need to start up the tree line, or it won't be nearly enough." Sen answered. "And who says we wanted a controlled burn anyway?"
Sen took the branch, setting it down among the roots of a tree, she gathered a few more leaves and tiny twigs into a bundle, as well as a few strips of the bark from the branch. Setting the bundle down on the branch that she'd set on the roots, she began striking the flint against the steel, sending sparks onto the bundle of tinder she'd made. It caught after a few strikes, some smoke and flame rising up that grew slowly as she blew lightly on it, feeding some small twigs to get a steadier fire going.
"Can I try the next tree or maybe this is enough fire for it to spread?" Lucistic wondered aloud before bashfully turning to Senescence, "Look at me, it's my first time and I'm all flustered on if I know enough or am just dumb about setting fires."
"The more fires the merrier, right? And the better chance for spread." She handed over the flint and steel as the fire slowly spread along the branch and to the roots. A good start for sure, but going overboard never hurt.
Lucistic's acid green gaze was aglow as he began to set the remainder of the trees ablaze before stepping back to admire his work. Soon enough the ocean wind began to send the fire forward. "I'm pleased, I think it'll get to the beach naturally so let's go to your project next?"
He did good, not that she expected any less from her brother. "Keep making fires like that, and you'll be almost as much of a pyro as me soon enough." Sen commented, though she tried to pass off her approval as boredom. "Let's get to the mansion then. Wouldn't want to waste time and have DayClan prevent us from having our fun."
Sen followed him at a rapid pace, and unlike previous walking scenes, this was fast time, so they actually got where they were going in a reasonable amount of time. "Alright, time to set ghosts on fire. Can ghosts burn? We'll find out."
