Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Prairiekit stared down at the Twoleg puzzle with hate in her eyes. It was one of those ones where you had to arrange the different pieces to create an image; it lay on the dirt before her, tauntingly unfinished. It was unfinished because half the pieces looked the same, and also because Prairiekit was finding it very hard to move the pieces around without opposable thumbs to pick them up. "Ugh," she muttered. "I hate these things. I'm never gonna finish this, and I bet that's gonna really annoy someone."
Mothkit's ears pricked at the she-cat's words and she strutted her way, craning her neck to look over the other kitten's shoulder. "Oh, that looks easy," she mewed dismissively. "Just push them into place! See, that one goes there," she butted past Prariekit and swiped at a puzzle piece, nudging it toward the correct corner, "and then this one goes here," she pulled another piece in and pushed it toward the rest of the puzzle. It was awkward getting it to click into place without thumbs but she was determined, it really wouldn't stick though. Mothkit pushed harder and the puzzle pieces slipped past each other, the colorful print on top of the piece in her paw peeling off as the cardboard split.
Prairiekit glared at Mothkit. "See? Not as easy as it looks, is it?" Maybe Mothkit would be the Chosen One to complete the puzzle. Not that Prairiekit cared anymore. She was over it. Totally. "But that's a good idea, y'know. Peel all the pictures off so the pieces can go anywhere. Maybe the only way to finish the puzzle is to make it....not-a-puzzle."
"It is easy, you're just stupid," she replied, glaring back at him. "I could figure it out if I tried." She decided then to stop trying, just in case she couldn't get it, even though she definitely could! "Don't ruin it, that's cheating. Are you a cheater?"
Prairiekit glared at Mothkit. "Alright, smartie-paws, no need to get all high 'n mighty about some dumb Twoleg game," she muttered. "...Besides. S'not cheating if it's rigged against you, is it? Then it's just...adjusting for fairness."
Prairiekit made a vaguely disgusted face. "Nah," she said, "I'm over it. And now I'm never gonna do it anyway because I feel like it's driving you insane. And I love that for me."
"And what kind of warrior keeps trying to do something they know is impossible, huh?!" Prairiekit hissed. "I can't put it together! All the pieces are the same colour! If it's so easy then you should just do it!"
Prairiekit laid down and rested her head on her paws, watching Mothkit out of the corner of her eye. "You missed a piece," she said, pointing to one lazily with her tail, "and another, and another."
Her scowl grew deeper and less amused. "I'm working on it!" she snapped tersely. She shoved two pieces together and squinted at them. Did they line up? The lines were a little too jagged. She pulled them apart and put two next to each other. There! Now just to stick them together. She started to awkwardly mash them together.
"Why are you trying to stick them together like you've never done a jigsaw before?" Prairiekit rolled her eyes. "I thought you were gonna be way better at this."
