Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
woofachromaticuniqcrimcomplacentdevil This is the warrior training thread for Emberpaw, Antpaw, Netherpaw, and Sunpaw! You will each need to respond to this thread at least five times for your apprentice to be promoted to warrior.
Juniperdust stood on the shore of the river, waiting for her four apprentices to meet her. This sign of trust, being given the most apprentices to train out of anyone, was a reassuring sign. It meant that nobody suspected her of siding with Nightclan in secret, or of murdering her own sister that night of the rebellion to preserve that secret. It meant she was still on the winning team- she was still strong, confident, respected.
Their training had been progressing just fine. Today, she wanted to perform a mini assessment of their skills.
"Today you'll be working in teams," she told the gathered group, who sat and watched her expectantly. "Antpaw and Emberpaw will face off against Sunpaw and Netherpaw. The winning team will get to skip training tomorrow and sleep in." Noting their excited reactions with an apparent amusement, she continued. "Starting here in the Deep Lands, you'll need to travel and catch one rabbit in the Wildflower Meadow." That was mostly for hunting practice, really, but she figured she'd make it part of the competition. "I'll leave my scent trail along the territory while you do that, with a few little tricks I've planned to increase the difficulty. The first group to catch a rabbit, track me down, and find me will win. Are there any questions?"
Antpaw sized up her teammate and their opponents, noting each one's physique compared to her own. She was slight in stature and normally would be overlooked as a threat, but she had a reputation for masterfully utilizing that to her advantage- able to conceal herself within leaf piles and startle unassuming clanmates, so to say she wasn't too worried about her upcoming performance was an understatement.
"No ma'am, Miss Juniperdust," she chirped merrily, then turned to Emberpaw, an adrenaline-fueled delirium in her eye. "We got this, Emby, yeah? I'll have you know that Sissy - that's Sunstar - dubbed me one of the most promising soldiers for the upcoming sky ant war, so there's no way we lose!" That wasn't... entirely true; she and Emberpaw were both new apprentices, whereas Sunpaw and Netherpaw were their seniors, but there were no explaining statistics to an overly eager Antpaw.

Netherpaw eyed the two younger apprentices with his one good yellow eye. Despite having only one good one, he had learned to accommodate and it did not hold him back. These two didn't know that though. He looked over at Sunpaw and grinned stretching each of his legs slowly and dramatically, "Ready to show these two how it's done? As good sporting seniors, of course," Netherpaw was one of the older apprentices and was feeling eager to become a warrior.

Sunpaw, despite her incessant need to know every single other apprentice in this apprentice den, didn't actually know the two apprentices she was facing off against. However, she did know Netherpaw; he was a fun cat, and while they had never trained together, she was sure they could figure something out. She snorted at the younger apprentice's words about being 'promising.'
"These two don't know the territory as well," she pointed out with a small smile, trying to hide her own excitement and giddiness, "we should have an advantage for that." As much as she was usually a chill cat, she sure was competitive, and her itch to win was growing stronger by the minute.
"Use your strengths- and you'll get it done faster if you work together. But if your partner starts slacking, you can feel free to split up and claim the victory for yourself," Juniperdust said, giving the eager group a smile. "On the count of three, you all can head to the Wildflower Meadow. One... two... three... go!"

"Exactly, let's go!" Netherpaw called to his partner, heading off in the direction of the meadow. They had spent time together and Netherpaw liked to think he knew the other apprentice at least somewhat. She was a fast runner and would hopefully make for a good hunting partner. He really wanted to sleep in tomorrow!

Sunpaw grinned, running alongside Netherpaw. "I know she mentioned that we need to go to the wildflower meadow," she spoke, "but wouldn't the rabbit meadow make more sense?" There was a path that way too, even if the fastest way was to just cross the river. She grimaced at the thought; despite living here for so long, Sunpaw was a horrible swimmer, and she hoped that wouldn't be necessary on this little assessment.

"She never specified the rabbit had to be caught in the wildflower meadow," He agreed, tipping his head and adjusting their course for the river, "you feel like swimming?" He asked. Netherpaw was a great swimmer and loved it.

"No," she immediately cried out, before feeling rather embarrassed by her outburst. It wasn't exactly a well-known fact–or at least, Sunpaw had never actually advertised this–that she wasn't a good swimmer. She had never been good at it and frankly, not having anything under her paws scared her more than she'd like to admit. Her face was flushed. "Um I mean...if we cross the bridge we'll have more time to look for a rabbit, right?" Her voice sounded sheepish.

He blinked rapidly a few times before adjusting his course, not wanting to lose time arguing over it. "Bridge it is," He agreed without questioning her. Surely she had a good reason, he could trust her on that. "Keep your eyes peeled I really want to catch a rabbit!" He said quietly with a grin as they made their way closer to the meadow

She nodded with a grin, racing after him, grateful that there were no questions asked. It'd be difficult to explain that despite being a SummerClan cat, she was a lousy swimmer and somewhat terrified of what lurked underneath the murky waters. As they neared the meadow, she lifted her nose to scent the air...but nothing. They were still upwind. "Should we split up?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, "I can take the higher ground and you can look closer to the water?"

Cometpaw came running up in a hurry. He hated being late but that couldn't be helped since he was detained by an elder who wanted fresh bedding. Being a new wet-behind-the-ears apprentice he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. This was all new to him, just having been promoted the night before. "Hey! Wait up!" he called to some cats several fox lengths away.
