Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar wanted adventure, thrills, and maybe some apple slices from the apple orchard. More importantly she needed a "partner in crime" for such an excursion. That's when she spotted him, Lionkit, perfect.
"Heyyy, Lionkit," Glowstar greeted in a blur between a mischievous and casual tone, not yet announcing her intentions, but first seeing what he was up to out in camp.
DayClan's camp was a little different there were tall valley walls with waterfalls that matched the height of the exterior. Behind the waterfalls were where the dens were. Unlike traditional clan dens each family had their own den as a home. There was no such thing as a nursery or warriors den in DayClan, only family living spaces. But more fun for kits were the stones sprawled out across camp for them to play on and hide in.
Lionkit was playing with some rocks. He was jumping around, pretending the rocks are prey. Suddenly,he heard his name.It was Glowstar, DayClan's leader.Lionkit stopped playing.
"Hello Glowstar!Do you need anything?"he asked with a happy meow.
"Oh nooo, I was just passing through," Glowstar said, giving a wave to Lionkit's mom to assure her all was well. Then she suddenly leaned in low to the kits level, her paw over one side of her cheek to keep her words echoed between the two of them, "Actually, that's not true at all, I'm planning on going on an adventure outside of camp and I want you to come with." She said excitedly, "Are you up for it!?" She exclaimed a little too loud and seemed to realize it and immediately cover her muzzle before flicking her aquamarine eyes back at Lionkit to see his reply.
Lionkit was surprised. He didn't expect his leader to want to take him on an adventure. After all, there were so many other cats that Glowstar could of chosen.
"Um...Yes!I would like!"he whispered so his mom wont hear him."But why have you chosen me?Where are we going? What are we going to do?"he had so many questions.
"The secret to having an adventure is that you have to not have answers for those questions. Because if you know everything that's going to happen it won't be an adventure," Glowstar said in a slow devious tone before nudging him, "Now c'mon, let's go, you can follow in my shadow, walk by my legs so no one notices. I'll distract everyone while you do."
"Just going on a perfectly normal walk!" She yelled out in an above average speaking voice, "Nothing to see here. Just walking, haven't you seen your leader walk before? Yup, just strolling, everything is normal here, haha," She said with a forced smile trying to carefully exit camp without making a scene.
Lionkit followed her instructions, managing to get out of the camp unnoticed. He looked at his leader wondering what they will do next.
"Now what?"he asked full of excitement."Are we going to hunt?Or are we in a secret mission, and we have to spy on NightClan?"he was jumping around, almost yelling every single word that he said.
"Oh, we've got a secret mission alright," Glowstar said before squishing Lionkit cheek to cheek with her so she could lean in to whisper him the secret, "So there's a group called Renegade Regime. Or as some like to call them, DirtClan because they're a group of cats who live underground. Anyway, I'm thinking we go over and offer to trade stories with them. But they're stuck up and will probably chase us out, I think it could be fun though. Today I saw one sniffing around, probably wanting to steal prey from us, we can go find them."
Lionkit didn't know if his leader was kidding or not. That sounded dangerous.Spying on a group of cats that live underground wasn't something that he was doing often.Actually he never did that.He was kinda scared.
"Umm...Glowstar?"he wasn't jumping anymore."Isn't that dangerous? After all, I'm still a kit,and I have to wait until i become an apprentice.Would you like to get some apple slices instead?"he purred not knowing how he feels about his leader plan
"Is it?" Glowstar asked, tilting her head back in thought, "Nah. The Regime aren't like clan cats, they have, I don't know, maybe five cats who actually know how to fight. They're a group of hunters and healers, but rarely will you ever meet a cat there that can fight. We can get your apple slices though. It's only the best part of our territory," She said leading the way.
The apple orchard was massive, and the pasture that the two-leg farmer had was even bigger. "Always make sure to take the apples from the tree, never the ones on the ground," Glowstar advised, "I can even teach you how to climb down from a tree."
While most trees were heavy and tall the apple trees were rather small for a tree. The branches were low and didn't reach all that high before turning thin and impossible to climb far, it was certainly a beginner level tree to climb on without risking injury.
"Wow!The apples are so red!"Lionkit exclaimed.Lionkit turned his head around, not smiling anymore. He was looking at his leader, wondering how would she react to what he is going to say."Umm, Glowstar...Before you teach me how to climb down, can you teach me how to climb up?"he was pretty embarrassed. The other kits normally know how to climb from 5 moons, but he didn't.
"It doesn't come naturally to you?" Glowstar asked and for a moment her words could have come off as judgmental, but her tone was swept with relief, "I wasn't able to climb trees much either, I'm glad I'm not the only one," She admitted with a smile playing at her lips.
"Before you even set your paw down you want to already know where you're going to put your paw. You're always looking ahead, never looking back or down," Glowstar explained, moving one paw in front of the other until she got to a low branch, "Low branches are always sturdy, but tall branches are thin and weak so you'll have to be careful."
Lionkit tried to do what his leader did.He managed to climb up a few inches, but he fell when he grabbed some rotting bark.He managed to fall on his paws, but they were hurting him after the landing."Ouch!"the kit meowed."That bark appeared out of nowhere!"He protested. Lionkit was looking at his leader, disappointed. He tried again, but this time he slipped."Why is this so hard?!" Lionkit tried again, and this time he managed to climb up to the first branch."Yes!You know what they say.Third time's the charm!"he smiled at his leader, happy that he managed to climb
"Every cat has a natural intuition on how to climb and balance, but for some of us it's not as infused into our blood. Don't worry though, most DayClan cats don't climb much," Glowstar reassured, before motioning for him to follow her the rest of the way up. Luckily apple trees were very small trees, usually the size of a two-leg so it wasn't all that much effort for a grown cat. For a kit it was a good entry level tree to practice with. "Just one more branch and you can get that apple," She assured him.
