Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Hollowkit parted his jaws in a huge yawn, straining his muscles before going completely slack again. He had been racked with yawns repeatedly, boredom covering him like a thick blanket. The colorblind kit peered around lazily, pondering if he should get around and find some other cat to pester.
Ghostkit watched his brother. his irritation grew with ever audible yawn the tom let out. It was like nails scraping on a chalkboard to the black and white kit, who had almost fallen back to sleep before this. With a deep sigh that visibly deflated him, Ghostkit stood up and stalked stiffly out of the nursery, without so much as a word or glance back to his litter-mate.
His eyes lazily dragged over Ghostkit as he exited the nursery, looking ruffled already. A sly grin slid across his face and Hollowkit followed him quietly, a mischievous glimmer in his eye. With cold precision, he hurled a dry mossball after his brother, pelting him directly in the ear. Following this he gave his best mask of innocence, though it was clear he was the culprit.
The tom had barely made it four, no five steps outside of the nursery before he felt something strike him. Bouncing off his ear and rolling several inches away from him. Frozen in place he slowly turned to stare at the moss ball, his golden eyes narrowed and ever so lowly he turned to stare at Hollowkit.
Oh, so that's the game is it?
No, this wasn't how this was going to play out. Without taking his eyes off his brother he snatched up the ball of moss with one of his paws. Then quickly grabbed it with his teeth, now gripped tightly in his jaw the black and white kit bolted, headed right for the entrance.
The awnry tomkit could hardly stifle his giggles. He hadn't noticed Ghostkit stop and grab the source of fury; he was too caught up in his silly amusement. He did, however, hear a soft trotting, and slid his gaze to meet his denmate's, eyes widening as his brother hurtled towards him.
Empowered by the look of horror on Hollowkit's expression, Ghostkit almost didn't stop. Almost. Luckily for the other cat he did stop, skidding to a sudden halt and kicking up dirt in the process. For a moment he didn't say anything, just stared into the other's eyes and let the silence between them grow awkward. Then without waring he blew the moss ball out of his jaw with an audible 'pop' as it softly hit Hollowkit between the eyes.
As the moss ball hit his face and fell to the ground, Hollowkit kept the horrified expression on his face, the awkwardness flying over his head. In an instance, he fell to the ground in a writhing mass of hysteria. "Oh! I really thought..!" He wheezed, rolling back to his paws and shaking dirt from his fur. "Wow, that was really what he needed."
Watching the other kit wiggling in the dirt laughing so hard was truly a sight to behold, at first Ghostkit was weirded out, staring down at him like Hollowkit had really lost his mind. However, after a moment a small smile graced the tom's lips, probably for the first time since he'd been born at that.
In between his grooming, he mewed, "Well, you were coming right for me! I thought for sure I was going down." Hollowkit let out a chuckle once more as he remembered the horror that had ran through him. "But instead... the moss ball just..." He gave one more hearty laugh, then sighed. "We should play more often! I get so bored around here."
