Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sorrelpaw eased herself forward step by step, her tail quivering with satisfaction at how quietly she crept over the earth. She really was learning! Just a few days ago Jayjack had been criticizing her clumsy posture and noisy steps, but she could barely hear herself walking, and she was herself. Step by step, she pulled forward, inching steadily closer to her target. But Sorrelpaw had been so focused on her quiet steps she had forgotten one other important aspect of hunting: cover.
The rabbit she was creeping up behind paused and looked around, and its beady eyes fell on her colorful, exposed coat. They stared at each other for a long moment of silence. Then the prey turned and darted away.

Promisedprince skidded to a stop in his run as a rabbit darted at him. His tail swung quickly, trying to keep his balance as he stopped just short of falling over. Quickly after the rabbit though he found an apprentice hurtling after it, and he skittered backwards on his paws, trying his best to stay out of the way. His eyes were wide with surprise at the whole ordeal, but he shook his pelt out, watching after the apprentice as he tried to flatten his fur back down. Just what all was happening here? He wondered to himself, but he didnt let himself dwell on it.
Sorrelpaw crashed around the corner, not quite elegant in her pursuit, her footing clumsy but just efficient enough to keep her on track. She hissed as she nearly struck a warrior, but as she shared past him her stride lengthened, and she leaped at the rabbit.
Sorrelpaw hit the ground where the rabbit had been an instant before, but the prey raced on. She skidded forward on her belly, her jaw hitting the ground with a jarring shock through her head, and lay prone for several long moments. Ow.
Taking a deep breath, she gingerly rose to her paws. She hurt a lot, but Jayjack always told her not to stay on the ground. Instead, she turned and glared back at the warrior. "Why didn't you catch it? I chased it right toward you!"

The white warrior grimaced as he watched her crash to the ground, his teeth gritted sympathetically. He knew that feeling for sure.
When she turned to him the look stayed, and disappointment washed over himself. Yikes... His ears flattened, and he looked away apologetically, "Sorry... I uh-" he stopped, unsure really what to say, "I didnt know it was coming at me!" He tried to defend himself, tail tip lashing. "And I didnt know what was coming either, what if you were a fox chasing it?"

"Hey its not all my fault!" he meowed, becoming a bit defensive, "I'm not so good at scents..." the warrior found himself pouting a bit about the fact, and wondered what he was doing defending himself to an apprentice anyways. He was a bonafide warrior now and he didnt have to prove himself to anyone, he already did that. "Better safe than sorry anyways, theres plenty more rabbits, and only one of me y'know."
Sorrelpaw hmphed but she didn't have a response to that. He wasn't wrong, there was only one of him, but if he couldn't even smell the difference between a clanmate and a rabbit.... well, maybe that was a good thing.
"I suppose," she sniffed, "but it's going to take me forever to find another one."
