Darksonata entered into the High Priestess' den, slipping into the side chamber that Soaringlight had made for her self. She was sleeping soundly, as he gentry laid down behind her, carefully to be quiet and not to awaken her. She hadn't been sleeping a lot lately and what he wanted to talk to her about wasn't urgent. He laid his head on his paws, closing his eyes as he rested and waited. Jadie
Soaringlight rested for only a few minutes before her electric blue eyes fluttered open. She wasn't sure why she woke up so suddenly. Darksonata often snuck to her side like this and he had never woken her up before.
"Are you awake?" She mewed quiet enough to not wake up her brother if he was actually asleep.

The black tom had just settled into the nest his his chin resting on his paws, when his sister began to stir beside of him. His eye lids fluttering open, the icy orbs underneath reflecting what little light from the moon and stars entered into the smaller chamber "Yes" he answered, as he moved his head onto her shoulder and touched his nose to her cheek gently "Did I wake you?" concern laced his voice, it was still far to early for either of them to be awake, morning prayers still hours away. An unfamiliar scent clung faintly to his coat, hardly noticeable to most but in the tight confines of the Priestess Promised chamber there was no hiding it
"Probably, but to be fair I've been having a hard time sleeping ever since my argument with Bravewolf," Soaringlight didn't want to call it a fight even though it was probably more accurate. She held no hard feelings toward her godly brother, but things were tense and it was weighing heavy on her, "Is everything okay?"

"I don't know..." he trailed off, not sure how to explain his findings to his sister "Stormstar hasn't been back to see me in a while..." it was rather odd, and he couldn't shake the sinking feeling in his gut that something was wrong "I went to investigate, and came across some rather suspicious activity along SummerClan's border. In the morning I am going to go back, and find out what is going on"
"The SummerClan border is so far away... come see me before you leave and I'll have some traveling herbs for you," Of course Soaringlight would support him without questions. She trusted he was making the right decisions. Yeah, she was worried, but Darksonata was more than capable of taking care of himself, "Do you want me to do with you?"

"You have work to do here..." he replied, yawning and settling back in beside of her. He was going to have a long day, and wanted to rest before the long journey "I don't think Littlestar will approve of you being gone for so long, or what I am walking into" he yawned, letting his chin rest on her shoulder again "Better that someone here knows where I am headed"
"Littlestar would be glad to be rid of me. But I understand if you want to go on this journey alone. Just promise me you wont' think that you've actually alone - I'll always be there for you," Soaringlight said, followed up by a yawn. The dark-furred she-cat shifted in her nest and rolled onto her back, casting her eyes upward at the ceiling of her den that she'd dotted with various reflective stones. She'd tried all kinds of decorations but those remained her favorite - it almost looked like a night sky, "If you're gone for too long, don't expect to find me in SunClan when you return..."

"So you have made up your mind..." it wasn't a question. He had known for a while now that she wanted to leave, it was only a matter of when. Figuring out things with Bravewolf and Littlestar, and the actual leaving "Mom and dad will be happy to see you" he paused "Do you want me to stay? Just until you are safely away?"
"No, you should go on your journey. I'm sure our paths will cross again before we know it," Soaringlight replied, twisting her head toward Darksonata and licking him right on the top of his head, "I'm going to miss hanging out with you, but this isn't a goodbye, it's just an until next time. We need to spread our wings; no proper Eerie stays in one place for more than a few seasons, after all. I hope being with Stormstar will bring you as much happiness as being back home in the Regime will bring me."
She was being honest and genuine. There was no hesitance in her voice, her gaze unwavering. But Darksonata knew her better than anyone. He could tell that she was unsettled, unsure. These were big life changes all happening at once and even a strong she-cat like Soaringlight was at heart no different from anyone else.
"Honestly... the only cat I truly worry for is our brother. He'll be losing all of us at the same time. I-I... I tried to talk to him about it but he just ran away. To be honest the only reason I'm still here is because of him."

"It will be hard on him..." Darksonata agreed, leaning in close to his sister and letting his long fur brush against hers "But he to needs to spread his wings. He was born to be a God, and it seems that no matter how hard he fights it he will be unable to fight his fate. Perhaps the kindest thing we can do is push him to be more independent" he let his nose gently touch her cheek "We will still be there for him when he needs us, but whether that day is now or later one day he will have to learn how to be on his own as well"
Darksonata didn't want leave either of them, but he couldn't ignore the pull of his heart any longer.
"I hope that the Blind Protector can find time to offer him guidance. Bravewolf may be a God, but he is also Regime by blood," Soaringlight replied, her gaze darkening. In a way she was giving up on helping Bravewolf. While some relief followed that decision, it naturally made her even more worried for him. But Soaringlight couldn't keep playing SunClan Princess forever, she had her own life to live, a life far away from SunClan, and to do that she'd have to draw her line in the sand, "We'll have quite the story to tell someday when we are all back together again, preferably in the Regime, of course. You know Grandmaw Shule will let you and Stormstar visit anytime."
The shift in subject and tone was intentional but necessary - there was no point in dwelling on the hard fact that they wouldn't be seeing each other again for a long time.

"We shall see about that..." he chuckled "Stormstar and Shule have... history"
Just mentioning Shule's name was enough to cause the tom to go into panic mode and try to end things with him. It was only through sheer determination that he had managed to keep things together. He didn't want to leave his sister's side, but it was time. They were both adults now, and as much as he hated to admit it.... she didn't need him any more. Not the way she had when they were younger. She was powerful in her own, "Just... stay safe" he hesitated, letting silence settle between them. There was a lot of things left unsaid.... How much he would miss and worry about her. That if anything happened he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.Yet, that simple phrased summed up the storm of emotions that he was feeling.
"The sun is starting to rise... I should get going soon"
Soaringlight picked up on Darksonata's slight but sudden shift in tone. His body stiffened ever so slightly, his eyes wavered, the kind of thing that no cat other than herself would notice as strange behavior on her brother's part. But she chose not to point it it and chalked it up to nerves. What was coming next made her nervous, after all, and neither of them were immune to stress. They just handled it better than most.
"I didn't realize you were leaving so soon, but it's probably for the best. I won't be here much longer either," Soaringlight replied, leaning forward to brush her cheek against his, "Safe travels, Darksonata."
