Hakoda had enough of waiting. It had been nearly a moon since he had seen Stormstar, and their last meeting had been a little...rocky? The long-furred black tom, had waited at their spot every evening and there had been no signs of him. SummerClan had not even attended the gathering which only fueled his unease. Enough waiting....
Night had fallen as Hakoda set out towards SummerClan. He had never been there himself, but he wasn't about to allow that to stand in his way. He followed the path, until the familiar scent bathed his nose. It was distinctive. One he recognized both from Stormstar, and from the gatherings. He had found SummerClan. He crossed over the border silently, staying close to the shadows that blanketed the landscape. Even the flower blooms that SummerClan was known for seemed gray and lifeless. Had it not been for the light breeze flowing over the fields from the water, the landscape would have appeared motionless. Cleaver
After his ill-fated attempt on his regent's life, Sootstep had outcast himself to the fringes of the territory. He refused to leave his clan behind, not until they were safe, but more and more often his paws strayed to the borders, frustrated with how his life had fallen to pieces. It wasn't just Stormstar; he wasn't the first nor the last leader to treat Sootstep as inferior, but at least he had the guts to openly disrespect the whole clan, not single out the warrior.
He stalked along the borders in search of prey, bitterness roiling like a cloud in his mind. He played the events of the last few days over and over at the forefront of his memory, torn. Should he check on the silver warrior? She'd helped him twice now, and she had suffered so greatly after the attack, but he barely knew her, and he doubted she would even appreciate the gesture... Lost in thought, he barely even noticed the tom gliding toward him until he caught his scent on the light breeze. Sootstep paused, staring at the dark-furred warrior in disbelief.
The dark gray warrior shot across the territory and launched himself at the intruder with a snarl.

Darksonata glided across the ground, his paws making nearly no sound as he moved across the hilly landscape. While he stuck to the shadows here there was few places to hide. He had hoped to get closer to camp before being spotted, but of course luck was not on his side. He had spotted the SummerClan tom long before he launched his attack but gave no indication. Keeping his eyes forward and steps even. He only had one thing on his mind, and that was getting to Stormstar to ensure his safety. He wouldn't be satisfied until he had laid eyes upon his mate.
Even as Sootstep launched his attack with a yowl, Darksonata didn't stop. Simply leaping to one side and continuing forward with the same even and unhurried pace that he had been doing previously as if nothing had even happened.
Sootstep struck the empty air the tom had been standing in a second before; his paws hit the ground and he let the momentum carry him forward several neat steps. Then he spun around and lashed out at the warrior's hind legs, swift as a snake.

Persistent...
Darksonata didn't have time for this nonsense, he did a little half skip to avoid the strike. Looking back over his shoulder with a warning glare. He wasn't really looking for a fight, but this was the tom's second chance to simply walk away. There would not be a third. He needed to find Stormstar, and the longer he spent dealing with this nuisance, the longer it would take for him to find the SummerClan leader.
