Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had been a while since SunClan and NightClan had interacted with one another. Aspenstar had been unusually quiet, and at his last report Tangledcurls had reported some... odd... findings. There were also the whispers going around, rumors of what was going on within the clan that she didn't believe nor dismiss. Littlestar wasn't one to engage in petty gossip, but the rumors were unrelenting. Rather than spend time waiting to see how things would unfold, it was time to take things into her own paws.
That morning, Littlestar announced that after the morning prayers she would be leading a patrol to NightClan. They would bring food, paint, and presents with them. Together they would travel together to NightCLan's camp, for a "friendship bonding festival" She had waited to the last moment, not speaking of her plans to anyone to ensure that even her own warriors wouldn't know of the surprise. If NightClan had something to hide, well they would struggle to do so with the announced guests arriving at their doorstep.
They left immediately, the sun rising higher into the sky with every moment that ticked by. They didn't pause at the border, instead crossing with absolute confidence. As they approached camp, she could see could see several warriors scramble off to give their leader some sort of warning as they crested the hill and gazed down into NightClan's camp. He brightly colored flame dancing under the light of the sun "it seems our hosts have forgotten have forgotten the invitation they have extended" she she mused, looking down at the sleepy cats who just been roused from their slumber at their arrival @ian

Lilypool was part of the patrol and had helped to gather the paints. The Janus was rather curious herself as to what was all going on with Nightclan. Although the rumors were floating around she hadn't seen anything for herself yet. What worried her was if these rumors were true what did that hold for Sunclan? Would they have to face a threat coming at them? The she cat tried not to show her worry but instead did as she was told and focused on her job as best as she could. She had volunteered herself just in case Littlestar needed her help with anything. Whatever was going to happen Lilypool knew at least she had her clanmates with her.
Skipstep was a step behind his mate his tail flicking as he followed her gaze down into the cenote. Taking in the pool of water at the bottom and the cavern that led into NightClan's camp proper.
He could see the bleary eyed cats that were poking out to look at them in shock and surprise.
His tail flicked as he looked to Littlestar chuckling. "Seems so." He mused.
“Maybe you forgot that some of us sleep during the day.” Sagebristle’s testy response drifted to the intruders. It was just her luck that she’d be here and not in Summerclan when this group of wackadoos decided to march into camp right as she was heading off patrol and to bed.
“I’m sure Aspenstar will be out in a few moments. One of the other Loyal Guard has gone to fetch her.” The small, lean russet tabby emerged from the bushes and stopped in front of Littlestar, preventing her from moving any further towards camp.
“Until then, you can wait there.” The guard member was none too welcoming, and her hard amber gaze seemed to dare them to contradict her.
"At ease, Sagebristle." Phantomfox was not welcoming party material and certainly didn't appear pleased by the intrusion, his features set into their natural grimace, but he'd been one of the cats present when Aspenstar and Littlestar made this deal. Though neither him nor his mate had anticipated it to come at such an inconvenient time, having intended his one night away from SummerClan to be spent in the leader's den...uninterrupted.
He halted at his guard's side and rested his tail across her shoulders, running along her spine to smooth the rigid fur. "These are Aspenstar's guests." His silver gaze regarded Littlestar with a thinly veiled disgust, seeming to read who've come without warning. "She's waiting for you now, Littlestar." He indicated the direction of her den, stepping aside to allow the rival leader entry between he and Sagebristle, though they remained impeding the other SunClan cats from joining her.
Aspenstar found herself drifting out of her den, not quite following Phantomfox out, but also coming a bit too soon to suggest that she hadn't been warned by her mate of the others' collective intrusion into her camp. Interest flickered in her gaze, met only with a soft exhaustion that came from being disturbed in the middle of the period NightClan was generally inactive. Even if it was more or less planned, although planned quickly, it was natural for her to be tired during the day, being that she should in theory be sleeping. Not that she was sleeping anyways - Aspenstar had found herself sleeping less and less with each passing day. This wasn't particularly uncommon, as insomniatic bouts were something she had dealt with most of her life, but her current involvements with the world had amplified her sleeplessness; that being said, although it was not perhaps the only cause of her sleeplessness, the unquestioned stress of the situations in which she was involved certainly didn't help. She hid her tiredness well though; after all, exhaustion was a weakness, and Aspenstar would not show anyone her belly.
"Pardon my tardiness," the leader meowed evenly, her tail tip twitching. Her gaze moved between Phantomfox and Sagebristle, offering a nod that was equal parts 'At ease' and 'Stay on guard'. SunClan and NightClan relations were better than they used to be, but they were still imperfect, and Aspenstar had no idea what the SunClan leader knew, or at least, what she thought she knew. Of course, she had been expecting a visit from the SunClan leader for a while, given that both Raystrike and Tangledcurls still had contact with the group, and she couldn't imagine the two had kept the NightClan actions under wraps. Still, she had no idea what the rumors that swirled were, at least not exactly. Because of this, no matter her apparent friendliness, her Guard still needed to be on their toes. Even if they were friendly, SunClan would still inevitably carry a threat: they were wildcards, and therefore, NightClan needed to act accordingly. Play nice but be prepared, that would be what they had to do.
"It's good to see you again, Littlestar," she continued, the smile never leaving her face. "I see you've brought company," she turned to the other two SunClan cats. She thought the tom to be Littlestar's mate, but had no idea who the other was. "As I'm sure you know, I'm Aspenstar." Her whiskers twitched in amusement. "I see you've met Sagebristle and Phantomfox," she then continued, pointing to each of them with her tail. "Welcome to NightClan camp."

If the silver she-cat was bothered by the harsh stares and cold welcome she didn't show it "It seems there has been some sort of miscommunication" she replied smoothly, glancing backwards to the the rather large patrol she had brought along with her for the celebration. It wasn't exactly a war party, with freshly caught prey, gifts, and leaves of paint. Young apprentices chattering with one another towards that back of the patrol, and the calm collected appearance "Perhaps it would be best if we return at a later time" she flicked one ear towards Phantomfox "I'll just speak with Aspenstar, and see what she would prefer" she flicked her tail before glancing back over her shoulder "Stay here, and be polite to our hosts"
She glided forward through the pair of cats unhurriedly as Aspenstar emerged from her den "No worries. I didn't mean to intrude, but I thought we had planned a little event for this morning to bring our clans closer. I have brought you some fresh kill and presents, but if this is an inconvenient time we can always return another day" both an apology and dare, a test if you.
Littlestar glanced at the sleepy eyes cats, all fluffed up and on the defensive from their sudden arrival at the very heart of NightClan's territory "It seems you were not expecting us" @ian woofsunlight
"No, no, that won't be necessary," she assured the other leader with a twitch of her tail. She turned to Sagebristle, offering the Loyal Guard member a nod. "Why don't you get everyone? We wouldn't want our company to think us rude," she meowed, before her gaze settled back on Littlestar.
She studied the leader for a moment, before offering an apologetic smile. It seemed that once again, Aspenstar was a chameleon. Adaptable to all circumstances, with a different face for every cat she came across. This Aspenstar was not the avenger she was with Primal Instinct, nor the strong arm SummerClan now knew her as. Instead, it was perfectly friendly, easy going, but still ever-watchful.
"We appreciate your kind gifts. I hope the trip from SunClan wasn't too arduous?"

"It was a pleasant journey, and your clan is close enough that it isn't a bother" She motioned for the patrol to come on forward and begin setting out the supplies they had brought. The SunClan cats had brought enough to feed themselves with plenty left over for the NightClan cats to share, if they dared. The diets of the two clans were quite different, with snakes, lizards, and even a tortoise mixed in amongst the pile.
"I do apologize for the miscommunication, next time I will send a messenger ahead of the main party so you we are on our way" she purred a little, grabbing one of the honey drizzled baked lizards that had been prepared ahead of time using the warm sun stones "I hope you are hungry, you and I can share one of these treats. It is rather sweet, and I have feeling you are going to enjoy it" she took a small bite before passing it to the NightClan leader
While her warriors and Janus spread out, she simply watch and listened. Aspenstar seemed welcoming enough, almost too welcoming.....
Sagebristle put her rudeness in check for Aspenstar's sake only, and moved off, slipping away to collect the other Loyal Guard members. It wasn't like she understood the point of inviting these looney tunes with their weird smelling food and their oddly colored liquid, but it wasn't her place to question Aspenstar.
When she returned, other members of the guard and a few warriors in tow, she kept her distance, eyeing the lizard and the paint with suspicion. No way in hell would they catch her touching any of that.
Rustspiral found himself padding over, curiosity in his gaze. Was that free food? If there was one way to get to the tom's heart, it was with a good meal. He glanced over to the loyal guard member, then followed her gaze to the lizard. A grin passed across his gaze. "What, a lizard doesn't look appetizing to you?" - Aspenstar nodded to Littlestar. "A messenger would be helpful, although you're always welcome here, surprise or not," she meowed with a nod. Maybe she was being too welcoming, too casual for it not to be suspicious. There really wasn't anything casual about the NightClan leader at all. By now, whether or not the other leaders knew what was going on in SummerClan, they knew that Aspenstar liked to stay three steps ahead. She was always calculating, no matter how devilishly charming she may appear.
She let her gaze slip to the lizard, and she found her eyes widening slightly. "I've never eaten one of those. We don't have many reptiles here," she meowed, although she was perfectly aware that Littlestar probably knew that. She was grateful that Littlestar took the first bite; she wasn't entirely sure how to go about eating it with the scales and all. She mimicked the leader's bite, her head tilting slightly as she pulled away to chew.
She chewed quickly, her tail twitching. "It's sweet, surprisingly tastes... birdlike," she meowed. "Not quite the same, but definitely not what I expected. You're right, it's good. Thank you, Littlestar." She blinked, before falling into a more casual seated position. It was important to her that she appear relaxed, much more relaxed than she actually felt. "How has SunClan been these last few moons?"

Lilypool looked around finding the environment around them to be rather dull in comparison to their home. They didn't even have any colors to their furs...what a shame. She kept an eye on where her leader was hoping this trip would be short and quick. The Janus kept her vigilance remaining to herself however she noted the few cats near by. They had a loyal guard, eh? Perhaps that was similar to what her job was.
