Littlestar led the group of young SwiftClan apprentice's into SunClan's camp. She knew that this was a big change for them, but she hoped in time they would come to understand why they had been brought here. They were here as her personal guests, and they would be treated as such. She had asked her own children to be waiting here to welcome them into their new home, for they were close in age and she hoped that it would make them more comfortable
"Welcome to SunClan's camp" she purred warmly, "This is my youngest litter, and I have asked them to help you get settled in for the evening. Joypaw, Fatepaw, Vividpaw, and Phoenixpaw, and Destinypaw. They will show you around camp, find you a nest, and paint your fur if you would like. I have a few things to settle, but after evening prayers we will all sit down and talk about why you are here. Children, this is Mountainpaw, Littlepaw, Jetpaw, and Sunpaw. THey are your nieces and nephews, so be kind and help them feel welcomed"
Fatepaw had been born for this. He was practically jumping up and down when he was told that some family would be coming to stay with them. Only their instructions restrained him from leaping at his new family. He didn't really know a word for it. His mother's daughter's children? Family was messy. He smiled and nodded at his mom's orders.
Tranquilpaw on the other hand was crying quietly all the way over, and even now stood behind all of her siblings. She wished she had tried to slip away before, but now it was too late.

Joypaw looked at their new friends with a big grin, the little she-cat practically dancing in place "Hiya!! I am Joypaw! Momma has told us a lot about you" It as easy to tell that these cats were scared and not really all that excited to be here. One of them was even crying, she would have to fix that. She bounded up and let her tail drape over Tranquilpaw's shoulders "Now don't cry, we will give you the grand tour, find you a nest, and get something warm in your tummies. I know this must be strange and all, but you have nothing to worry about" she had a big goofy grin on her face
"This is the entrance to our camp. You have already been through the maze, it seems scary but it helps keep us all safe from intruders. Down there is the sandy beach, its where we have our clan meeting and prayers. And those big stone? Those are sunning stones!! They are always so warm and comfy. The perfect place to relax after a hard days work!!! Just be careful of the waterfall, the current there is really strong so if you want to go swimming you should go to one of the shallower pools"
Jetpaw rolled his eyes was Joypaw explained SunClan's camp to him and his siblings. Honestly, this whole set up seemed underhanded to him. Littlestar knew that they would be resistant to her so she used her children as proxy, knowing it would be easier for them to get along with someone closer to their own age. Oh well, he couldn't say he didn't expect something like this right off the bat, SunClan was known for their skills of manipulation.
The red-furred tom kept his distance from everyone else and simply glowered.

"I can tell you are nervous, but I purromise you'll settle in just fine," Vividpaw was at Tranquilpaw's opposite side, completing the family sandwich, "Just take a deeeeep breath and relax. Everyone in SunClan is very nice and we are so happy you are here."
Well, the family sandwich really didn't do much to affect Tranquilpaw. If anything it made the tears flow a little bit harder. She just didn't want to be around these cats. She didn't want to be around cats who were trained to be murderers. "Just... leave me alone." She tucked her head down and refused to meet any of their gazes.
Fatepaw had the same kind of excitement as his siblings, but seeing Tranquilpaw and Jetpaw's reactions kind of threw him off. He just smiled at Jetpaw and rolled his eyes.

Joypaw didn't quite understand why all of them were so upset. Were they missing their mom and dad? She tried to push any negative thoughts away "Ok, I mean we can leave you alone if that is what you want, but at least let us take you to the apprentices den. It should be a little quiete there, and you can get some rest" she gently nudge Tranquilpaw's shoulder pointing up the path "It is this way, and while you settle in we can bring you some food if you are hungry. We have plenty" she started up the path "I tried to make your nests comfortable you before you got here. I hope you like them!"
Vividpaw frowned and was about to offer Tranquilpaw further reassurance before Joypaw beat her to it. She didn't exactly like her sister's approach - Vividpaw was a much more forceful, strong-willed she-cat, she would have rather kept pushing - but she'd respect it for the sake of keeping the peace.
"Uh, yeah, the apprentice den is nice! It's very spacious and well-protected, probably a lot different than what you're used to in SwiftClan," She chittered, her friendly smile back and in full effect, "You're only ever slept under an open sky, right? What's that like?"
~*~
That's a dumb question, Jetpaw thought, although he didn't dare speak up. For once it seemed everyone was leaving him alone and he didn't want to draw more attention to himself by joining in their conversation. He did feel a little bad for Tranquilpaw but not bad enough to do anything about it.

Sunpaw watched the strange apprentices with wary eyes, moving over until his pelt brushed against his brother, Jetpaw's, for a moment "Come on, lets go rescue her before she really starts to panic" he slid forward smoothly, placing himself between the intrusive she-cats and Tranquilpaw, putting on his best smile with his tail lightly brushing Tranquilpw's shoulder "Look ladies, you have been rather kind" his golden gave landing on Vivdpaw "but we have traveled a long way. We are tired, hungry, and a little home sick. To be honest with you, none of us really want to be here. All we have heard about SunClan is how terrible your clan is. Filled with murderers, liars, and manipulators" he had laid the bait, only hoping the SunClan cat's would take it and put their focus onto him instead of his sobbing siblings

Mountainpaw stood behind the rest of the group, a quiet foil to the rest of his family. He found himself emotionless and with a couldn't care less attitude about his time here. They were sent to learn but he found that he didnt want to learn anything from these cats. They were barely taking any of this seriously, his sister's emotions, the fact that they were held here. It was just another fun day for his distant relatives. And he planned on keeping them distant. He nodded, agreeing with Sunpaw as he spoke, watching with disinterest at the reactions of the other apprentices.

Joypaw frowned "Who ever gave you that idea? SunClan is great!"
Being raised by the High Priestess, she had been rather sheltered growing up. In her young mind, SunClan was not only one of the biggest clans but the best by far. They had the Sun God on their side, a bountiful territory, and were bound together by their religion "I know this whole thing is scary, but you will see" she puffed her chest out as she motioned toward the apprentice den "I will go and fetch you something to eat What would you like? A mouse is probably the safe option, but if you are feeling venturous I can get you a lizard or snake to try'
Jetpaw sighed as Sunpaw padded ahead of him to be Tranquilpaw's knight-in-shining armor. He fancied himself a bit of a loner, not one to intervene or put himself into a situation like that unless it really was life or death. But Sunpaw had put him on the spot so he had to act. Sighing a second time, he padded ahead to the rest of the cats, placing himself on Tranquilpaw's other side, "We don't need anything from you. We'll figure it out. Just leave us alone."
~*~
"Most of us aren't murderers, liars or manipulators," Vividpaw frowned, not exactly denting the accusation, but trying to steer away from it, "That's just a rumor... A rumor that doesn't apply anymore, much less to us. Unless... did you hear any bad rumors about Joypaw, me or our siblings? Is that why you don't like us...?"
"You might not be a manipulator, but what about Littlestar?" Littlepaw cut in, scowling at the other apprentices. She didn't know how to feel about their new situation, but if her siblings were upset, she would always be on their side. "She brought us here! We were perfectly happy at home and now we're stuck here in your terrible clan."

"If mom brought you here, it was for an important reason. Its not like she goes out grabbing random apprentices from their homes" Joypaw tilted her head, but she didn't really know why they were here either "To be honest, I don't know why you are here either. But momma says that you all are family, so shouldn't we get to know each other?"
"Kits born to a SunClan cat and an outsider may remain in the clan of their parent's choice until they are old enough to become apprentices, but must be returned to SunClan for training," Jetpaw said slowly, as if ready the page from a book, "It's part of your code. If our parents hadn't forced us to come here, there would have been a war. In other words... we're just pawns."
~*~
Vividpaw fell silent at Jetpaw's words. He wasn't wrong exactly, but he also wasn't right, either. She decided to wait and see what Joypaw said before you commented next, given that her sister was already more-or-less leading the conevrsation.
Fatepaw, however, did not have the same notion to wait for that. He would just try to make things worse before they got to it. He bounded over and stood perhaps a little too close to the newcomers. "Well, not really. None of your parents are really SunClan anymore, ya know? Your mom's never been here for as long as I can remember." He paused for a moment to think. "Besides, uhh..." He glanced at Tranquilpaw. "You guys aren't really worth fighting a war over..."

"Fatepaw is right...." she paused looking over at the other young cats "From what momma said, your mom was forgiven for leaving SunClan. Littlestar didn't make you all come here it was your parent's decision" she blinked "Did they tell you something different? Because that is part of our code, but I don't think it applies to you all" complacentdevilCleaver
"They couldn't tell us anything at all," Littlepaw replied bitterly, surprising herself with the venom in her tone. "They've never acted like that before. They didn't want us to come here, I know it. Littlestar did make them come. They didn't have a choice!"

"They weren't allowed to tell anyone, they kept this in secret." stated Mountainpaw, rather calmly, though his pelt burned from anger and confusion. While he felt relieved to hear his siblings and himself werent going to cause a war had they not been sent here, it still burned him to hear that they weren't "worth starting a war over". And he wondered why they didnt just leave at this point. This was getting nowhere. He sighed, rolling his eyes and shuffling his large paws below him as his eyes shifted to each of his family members.
"What other reason could there be, then?" Jetpaw challenged back, tail lashing for just a second before he calmed himself down. The only way he would be able to forgive his parents for this was if he thought they didn't really have a choice in the matter. But if that wasn't true, the reality he had to face was much darker. He refused to believe it, "SwiftClan hasn't forgotten that SunClan once raided us just because they thought SwiftClan might be hiding kits that belonged to them. I'd say that even if that stupid code didn't exist, they'd still be afraid that would happen again."
~*~
"But that wasn't Littlestar's leadership!" Vividpaw spoke up, golden eyes shining brightly, "She'd never do something like that unless she believed that those kits were in grave danger, which I'm sure they weren't. Besides, that's not allowed with the new code anyways. No Clan has the right to separate kits from their mothers."

Joypaw shrugged "My sister is right, that had nothing to do with momma. I wish I could give you answers, but I don't know any more about why you are here than what you already know. What I DO know though, is that momma always does what she thinks is best for her family and you all are family. So you really have nothing to worry about"
