Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Sunsetpaw had caught the scent on Dawnbringer's pelt the last time his uncle came back to camp. It had been faint, but it had been there. It had been moons since the tom had caught the whiff of Duskveil, but even a hint of the scent of one of his adoptive mothers was enough to give him pause, especially now that Darkmeadow was dead. He recognized it instantly, but he hadn't asked Dawnbringer about it. No, that would implicate the Loyal Guard, who was already in the hot seat of the leader. No, instead, he would sit on the border of Moon and NightClan until he saw her himself. He'd been stationed there, at the cross, for days. Other cats knew better than to ask him what he was doing; after all, did it really matter what a dying apprentice did with his time? Especially when the clan had bigger concerns?
Sunsetpaw sighed, wrapping his tail around his delicate paws. Waiting was not something he was fond of, but he wasn't fond of much in his life anymore. At least now he had something to occupy his dwindling time on the earth. Still, even though he quite literally had nothing better to do than die, he craved instant gratification. He wanted to know if she was alive, and he wanted to know now.
Luckily, it seemed that his wait would finally be over, as he caught a glimpse of the familiar feline...
