Riverlotus waited for his mothers latest attempt at setting him up with someone to show up for their first date. She was the fourth girl this week, and he was sure she wouldn't be the last. The first date had ended in disaster when he made a comment about how he would expect his mate to give him kits soon after they became officially mates. She got rather scared of making such a big commitment so early on and had fled...coward... The second date ended with the she-cat running away in tears when he said that she was clumsy. What else was he supposed to say when she couldn't even walk over the stepping stones without falling the water? But the worst by far had been the third date. She had outright slapped him across the cheek. He still hadn't quite figured out why, all he had said is that the the feather she wore made her less ugly. It was meant to be a compliment.
He shrugged his should placing the white river lotus blossom on the tree stump along with the mouse he had brought along for the date. His mother had threatened to beat him if he wasn't a perfect gentleman tonight... After all Zidian was no doubt watching his every move to report back. ѕнαdow✩
Zidian tossed a thinly amused look at the tom as he settled at the stump yet again that moon. Riverlotus was a hopeless cause. She doubted he'd land a female for longer than one sun, but Madame Ziyuan continued to try. She slightly shook her head before returning to her motionless, guarded pose some tail lengths away from the scene.
"Do try to be less of your arrogant, condescending self, would you?" She found herself humming with a glint in her purple gaze, not unlike a strike of lightning in an amethyst sky. "Otherwise you'll be further trapped in this cycle and I don't want that suffering on either of us."

Riverlotus shrugged "If a she-cat can't handle a single date with me, why do you think she could handle being my life partner?" he asked his ever present guardian. He had stopped trying to escape her presence for the most part, reluctantly accepting that she was there to stay for now. Sometimes he even forgot that she was there, always staying quiet and a respectful distance away for the most part. One thing was for sure, she was no lady. Underhanded, sly, and down right stubborn. Everything a she-cat wasn't supposed to be.
Zidian shook her head. "You think such a she-cat exists out there? What must it be like in your rose-colored world?" She wondered, gaze teasing, and tilted her head with a smirk. "Since you have such a crisp clear image of your ideal she-cat, why don't you help all of us out and describe her to me? Perhaps if I help with the search, we can all have better days ahead."
