Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Gossamer was irritable since the explosion, mostly because she was temporarily out of commission. Her paw had practically shattered under the weight of the rock, and now it was in a tight splint in hopes that one day, it would go back to normal. Of course, the break meant that the sentinel was also heavily medicated, wandering in to bother the guiders for more pain medication. There wasn't enough meds in the world, though, that would put her in a better mood today...

Hourglass noticed Gossamer walk in to where he and the other guiders were at curious as to what she wanted unaware of the pain or mood she was in. Casually walking over the tom cat had his head slightly cocked to the side in curiosity as he made his way over. "Um hey what can I do for you Gossamer?"

Gossamer glanced over to Hourglass. He was a guider, which meant the Sentinnel felt naturally superior to him, butttttt bothering someone that wasn't the stressed Chaman might be helpful, given the lackluster situation the Regime was now in. "I was told to find a guider for my foot," she meowed, glancing down at the paw. "It's bindings need to be changed daily, which has been a bit of a struggle, given that we just... blew up."

"I can change the bindings for you not a problem. I don't think anyone came out of that explosion without some injury or another but luckily there are a few of us guiders that are in shape enough to help." Hourglass himself had emerged with a few scratches and bruises but nothing broken or long lasting. "Here take a seat there and I'll get you up and running again no problem. I am not sure just how bad the injury is and although we don't have a lot of supplies I may have some medication that can help numb the pain. Did you need any of that?" The calico started to walk around gathering the things he needed.

Gossamer Alessandra let out an irritated bark of a laugh, although her irritation was not with Hourglass, but with the situation as a whole. "My paw was crushed almost completely by a boulder, so there are at least a few broken bones in there. According to the first cat who looked at it, there's a good chance it won't ever be useable fully again." There was a wryness in the former commander's voice; she was being forced to face her very first imperfection. "I wouldn't have survived the explosion if... the strong cat wasn't there." She was bad at names. "Havialah? I don't really know, it was all pretty much a blur, given the whole, shattered paw thing."
She let out a sigh. "Which is all to say, if you don't give me something to numb it before you touch it, I might have to kill you."

"Oh I'm-I'm sorry to hear about your paw. That's honestly a shame...but hey you got your life to thank from Havialah and can go on from this. You will become stronger from it, maybe even better and wiser than before. Here chew that." Hourglass threw the herb in her direction as he gathered the rest of the stuff he needed to dress up the wound. He wasn't too worried about her threat, not because he wasn't afraid of her but knew it was likely due to the pain the paw was causing her.
"It's terrible what has all happened but I am at least glad to see you are alive and as well as expected. Truly. I understand this is a hard time for you but you will move on from this. Be okay...no matter what the outcome of the paw brings you."

Gossamer laughed out loud at her words. She'd become stronger for this? She couldn't help but laugh. "You don't need to bother with platitudes. I know I'm screwed, and I also know Shule will never get rid of me, nor does she have the audacity to demote me to... auxillary," she meowed with a shudder at the idea. "If only because she knows I'll become even more insufferable." She let out a humorless laugh, before continuing "Which is all to say, if I'm going to have a pity party, I'm going to have one, and I'm the only one invited." She took the herbs, chewing them quickly with a sigh. Once she swallowed, she looked at the paw again with a faint disgust. "You know, it's sort of ironic. I always hated this place for making my pelt dirty, because it ruined the perfection. I guess fate didn't like that much, hmm? I guess it figured that if I was going to complain either way, I damned well might as well have a reason."

"Perhaps that is one way to look at it all...karma or whatever you wish to call it." The tom brought over his supplies and began cleaning the injury. He was quite and delicate in his movements as to not aggravate the already painful paw. Seeing that for what it was the paw was healing fairly okay. He wasn't an expert but with no sign of infection that was at least a fair assessment to make. "You can certainly complain if you wish, it's no bother to me in the slightest. If I were to make a suggestion? Think of this as a humbling experience. After all you did say you hated this dirty place but yet you are stuck here. It's odd how events like these lead us to places like this. By no means do you have to like this yet on the other hand....it could do you some good." The tom paused for a moment as he carefully examined the paw one last time before beginning to slowly wrap it. "You see there is always a reason for everything and everything has it's reasons. We don't have to like or understand why they occur. Just that they happen when it needed to happen. Like myself being here... well. I can at least help others. Time in itself is rather peculiar. Perhaps you'll be like this forever...or perhaps not. We can only wait to see what happens then go from there."
