Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Jetstar and Sakurapaw finally go to the Mooncreek to get Sakurapaw her full name, and talk to StarClan about the issues facing SpringClan)
After finishing the ceremonies and making the necessary announcements Jetstar went into the space Softpelt and Sakurpaw had claimed for Sakurapaw to work out of.
"Sakurapaw." The leader meowed. "There's a task we need to get to that's... overdue." The leader admitted.
The white healer turned and blinked at the leader, pink and purple gaze owlish, though deep within, her heart thundered – whether in excitement or dread, she wasn’t entirely sure. If Fawnheart had been here still, she was sure it would have been a mix of nerves and anticipation. But Sakurapaw was alone, and that wouldn’t change after the officiating ceremony. She swallowed and nodded her head. She didn’t need it spelled out for her.
The apprentice turned and looked at her newfound friend and close associate, “You’ll be alright?” Her concern and apology were evident for abandoning her while they were still recovering and trying to make the best out of a poor situation.
Softpelt let out a soft purr and nodded her head. "Of course dear, I'll be fine." She assured Sakurapaw. "Don't worry about me, go commune with StarClan. I imagine they've been waiting for you."
The white she cat was proud of herself, she'd managed not to stumble over the name StarClan despite her own unease with their ancestors.
Instead she simply offered Sakurapaw a soft look to further assure her to go on.
Jetstar shifted towards the exit of the makeshift den. "Come along, we'll have to get there before StarClan has gathered fully in Silverpelt above."
Sakurapaw shot Softpelt a blinding grin, allowing herself to feel excited for the first time in a while, and quickly padded in the direction Jetstar indicated. For some time, silence descended upon the pair, at least until the jitters of Sakurapaw’s nervousness and excitement shifted to unease the longer she was left to her thoughts.
“Jetstar," she murmured, still quiet broken. The healer bit her lip, finding it a challenge to continue down this path now that she stepped upon it but unable to turn back, “why now?”
Jetstar paused as they neared the SpringClan border. "Simple, the time has come for you to become what you were meant to be. The medicine cat of SpringClan, and the only way for you to become a full fledged medicine cat is to receive your name."
In truth there was also a part of Jetstar that wanted to speak with StarClan question them, ask them why this had all been allowed to happen. And also Sakurapaw deserved to forge her own path ahead and become the medicine cat Jetstar knew her to be.
"Come along, StarClan awaits." Jetstar said crossing the border and making her way to the direction of the moon creek.
Sakurapaw slowly nodded her head, quickening her steps to keep up with the determined leader.
After a short while more of their trek, they finally reached the location of the moon stone and Sakurapaw found her jaws falling agape, mismatched eyes wide with wonder. It was the first time she had properly seen the moon stone; her entire apprenticeship, her mentor hadn't found a time to bring her here and have her commune with StarClan even once. Admittedly, she was nervous she'd be able to do it at all tonight, especially at the leader's side with Jetstar so expectant. What if she couldn't communicate with anyone? Perhaps tonight Jetstar and the rest of SpringClan would realize how truly worthless she was...
She shook herself and padded forward, glancing at the leader to try and take her cue from her. She didn't want to rush things or make the wrong move.
