Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Jetstar sighed as the rain had finally ceased, the territory was still waterlogged, and it was clear SpringClan had some difficult times ahead.
But though tragedy had struck taking Fawnheart and sending heavy rains that had flooded their lands and prompted them to end up in a corner of their territory rather than their camp, this could be delayed no longer.
Jetstar walked out and perched up on a large rock towards the center of the rocky area along the path through the mountains that the cats of SpringClan had settled in for now.
"Let all cats of SpringClan gather around, for it is time I engage in a much overdue duty." She called.
She waited as the cats of SpringClan began to assemble. She'd already forewarned the parents of the kits being promoted that this was happening along with the apprentices that were becoming warriors.
"Cats of SpringClan we have suffered much hardship, and have lost some of our fellows to the waters that have doused our land for so long. But we must carry on and keep fighting." Jetstar meowed.
She waved her tail to beckon the apprentices that were being promoted to step forwards. "So I ask that the apprentices step forwards... It is overdue that I make the warriors before StarClan as is their right now that they have progressed as far in their training as they have."
Jetstar lifted her tail after letting the cheers die down a little.
"Now I have an announcement." She said. "I will be promoting several kits to apprentices... but the difficult times SpringClan faces means we must adapt." She glanced about the clan. "We need as many cats as possible working on restoring our clan to normalcy, and ensuring we will survive the coming leafbare."
"So I have decided that rather than assign one mentor per apprentice, we will try training apprentices in a group, with one mentor in charge of a respective 'apprentice patrol' as it were." She meowed.
"It is imperative that apprentices do their best to work with their fellows and listen to their mentor." She beckoned forth Dancingdragon and Goldengriffon's litter along with young Kitsunekit.
Sakurapaw sat and watched the gathering of cats and Jetstar as she stood upon her perch and addressed their clan, a small smile on her face, though deep within, her heart ached. Yet another ceremony had come and gone, the first without her mentor, the first where she stood as the unofficial full fledged medicine cat of her clan, and she still remained a -paw. She winced and looked down at her paws for a moment before she looked back at her fellow -paws who were given their warrior names after having rightfully earned them and the kittens who were charging into their training, undoubtedly excited about the journey ahead. She grinned at her little siblings. They were growing up so fast.
Zengarden glanced at his children, briefly tossing his eldest daughter a look of reassurance – she would get her name one day soon, he was certain – and glanced at the apprentices placed under his wing. Skunkpaw, Sourpaw, and Sweetpaw. Two out of three were the dear children of his deputy and captain of the trusted. That meant a lot of expectation on his shoulders. He was sure they would have a good time, though, despite Sourkit's well known personality.
Blackberry beamed at the thought of getting more apprentices. He was proud to prove himself as a good mentor, though he never could shake the feeling that he didnt fully know what he was doing. At least Jetstar had some faith in him. Enough to make him responsible for the young cats of the clan. It made him happy to say the least, and he couldnt wait to start teaching this batch.
Warmglow was beside himself. The large ginger and white tom was just about bouncing on his toes as his name was called. He was a warrior now, and one that was able to supply for his clan instead of being seen as a burden. His new home wasnt what it normally was, but without living through the thin, how could he appreciate living in the thick of it. He looked over the other apprentices that received their warrior names, congratulating them, but one sad looking soul spoke to him and he found himself wandering over to the medicine cat. "Hey Sakurapaw," he meowed in greeting, flicking his tail, "Why so glum? Isnt this a time to celebrate?"
(Cardinalsong's training thread) Cardinalsong stepped forward to greet the apprentices he'd been chosen to mentor, smiling at each of them a look of pride on his face. Despite the new grief in his life with the loss of his mother, Lightstep, he was hopeful he could still show the young cats there was still some good in this world.
