Limeburst had death on his heels. He underestimated the tenacity of the raccoon who's trashcan he was inspecting, and now the large arboreal animal had turned the newly promoted warrior into it's prey. Snaps of teeth rang out with a vicious snarling cry coming from the grey thing. The cat on the other hand yelped and dug his feet in, springing himself a few inches towards safety. If only he was still an apprentice and wasn't let out of anyone's sight, if only he didn't want to make a name for himself, then he woldn't be in this mess. He huffed to himself, his tail flicking quickly out of the way of another snap of teeth. There! His saving grace appeared in a small hollowed log, and he made a dive for it, worming himself in far enough that the raccoon wouldn't fit- and would hopefully get bored of trying to kill him, and go away. But not getting him was a good place to start.
Morninglight heard a squeal not far off, but it was loud enough to send the mouse she was stalking scurrying away. "Hmph" she huffed, as she tried to narrow in on the sound she was hearing. She waited a few moments until she heard another sound, and recognized the chittering of a frustrated raccoon. She casually strolled in the direction, unaware of her clanmate being in any danger. Morninglight turned a corner around a bush just in time to see a tail disappear into the tiny log, the raccoon not far behind. Immediately, she readied herself for what may be a dangerous situation. She had only tried fighting off a raccoon once.. and was nearly killed. The sheer size of them, not to mention the pointy teeth and claws, made for quite the unfair battle. But someone in that log was in danger, and she wasn't going to abandon them. "Hey! What were you thinking, agitating a racoon?!" She hollered in the general direction, both making light of the situation, and distracting the predator.

Limeburst let out a loud bark of a laugh, the young warrior finding the whole thing comical now. "You think I asked for this?!" he yelled back. The raccoon beating on the log with flattened hands, curling its clawed fingers into the bark as if it could dig the cat out. "I didnt know that silver log already had a resident!" He called, not sure why he was explaining himself in the situation he was currently in, but hey at least he had some company in the mean time.
Morninglight briefly shifted her attention to the "silver log" Limeburst had referred to. "Thats a two-leg log!" She shouted. "And raccoons practically live in those!" She teased, while racking her brain to come up with a plan. The log might be holding back the predator for now, but it wouldn't be much longer before it broke through the rotten wood, and it didn't seem to be giving up any time soon. She could attack the raccoon, giving the other cat enough time to escape the log and join the fight. But would the two of them be able to take on such a big raccoon? "You think we can fight it together?" She hollered.

"Youre probably better off leaving it to fall asleep and give up!" He called back, though the extra noise of the two cats conversing drew the attention of the raccoon. Something that Limeburst was hoping wouldnt happen. He was in this predicament all himself, no need to get other cats involved. But as the grey animal turned its nose to the other warrior the tom's eyes narrowed. The raccoon made an alarming, chittering screech, removing its hands from the log that the warrior was hiding in to launch itself towards the she-cat. But Limeburst was in hot pursuit, turning himself around he rocketed from the log and launched himself after the raccoon, landing himself on it's back, his claws digging into its hide. "We're fighting it regardless!" he yelled, his pelt bristling.
