Roseshade gently groomed her sister's kits as the got ready to make their first appearance out to the clan. The three kits had just recently opened their eyes, and it was time for them to begin exploring camp and meeting their clan-mate. It was rather bitter sweet for Roseshade, whom had been worried that the smallest one, Mistykit, wouldn't even pull through. She had been sickly and weak, and even now was much smaller than her two siblings.
"You all look beautiful" she praised warmly, looking up to catch Garsparklings eye. He was their father, and she was just grateful that she was allowed to be apart of their lives. "Are you ready?"
Halfkit was nervous to meet everyone in the clan, but was also excited to see their camp, their lives and how things worked. It was curiosity that kept the excited smile on her face, but deep, deep down, she was anxious about this interaction. The little kit looked between her father and aunt and nodded her head. "I'm ready!"
Garsparkling was trembling as he looked over his kits, torn between joy and pride and an overwhelming unending sense of meaninglessness that had followed his loss that he never quite recovered from and affection and gratitude as well to the sister in law that was helping him raise his kittens. The yellow-gray tom circled around the three tiny cats, giving them each a little boop with his nose. "You're going to love it outside," he chirped, "the clouds are gray today, and they're blocking the sun, and it might even rain and wash us all away."
“Wait….we’re going outside outside?!” She was so not prepared for that. The poor kit just thought they were finally leaving the nursery, not camp too! Halfkit’s eyes went wide as she looked towards her aunt, trying to figure out what in the world was going on.
