Devi had two litters of kits with her mate, the second being a single kit while the first were still Cadets. Her husband died when they eldest were young Cadets, leave them totally at the beck and call of their mother, who mostly tries to pretend they’re a happy family, when they’re anything but that behind the scenes.

In the present, where we pick up their story, these kits are adults now, some with kits of their own, with one child, Arawn, dead thanks to the explosion that recently rocked the Regime. Miracle Eerie has just found out she is expecting Arawn’s kits, which he’d agreed to father for her and her mate Bliss Eerie (formerly named Blue), intending to be like an uncle to them. However, with Arawn dead… his recently estranged family insists on pushing their own narrative of things and shove themselves into the lives of Miracle, Bliss, and their kits against their will. The entirety of which goes against anything Arawn Achir stood for in his life.

DEVI ANWIR // The mother. Busybody of a mother, insists on being part of the lives of her grandkits. However, she keeps calling DEAD BROTHER Miracle's mate, and refuses to acknowledge Bliss as a parent to the kits in the slightest. Full blown narcissist, who refuses to acknowledge the fact that her son Arawn wanted nothing to do with her. [ OPEN ]

CALCIA ANWIR // Eldest Daughter. The neutral child. For the most part, she had to raise her siblings when her mother was away, comfort them when they were sad, be the parent their mother never was. She is in a bit of denial of her mother's bad traits, always trying to mediate and present them as a happy, close family, despite the troubles behind the scenes. Since her brother's death, she's been more withdrawn, and constantly tries to get Miracle & Bliss to just give her siblings and mother a chance. [ OPEN ]

ALANA ANWIR // Middle Daughter. The clone of her mother. To make matters worse, she was pregnant during the explosion, and the smoke inhalation sent her into labor prematurely. This resulted in all but one of her kits being stillborn, and the last is barely hanging on some days. She herself was also never the same, and ended up being forced into the Auxiliary rank. She absolutely detests Miracle and treats her terribly, then claims Miracle is insane when she's upset. Likely to also treat Miracle & Bliss's kits similarly. [ OPEN ]

ZEREEN ANWIR // Middle Child/Eldest Son. The best son anyone could ask for. According to their mother. He was always given everything he wanted, and when a she-cat came to the Regime, proclaiming him the father of a litter of kits, between the rest of his family and him... the she-cat was never seen or heard from again. According to him, she dumped the kits on him, and they're lucky he was willing to take them in. But in secret, he abuses them, and clearly wishes nothing more than for them to die and leave him alone. He never wanted to be a father. [ OPEN ]

ARAWN ACHIR // Middle Child/Youngest Son. A friend of Miracle's. While Bliss was gone they became close, but there were no romantic feelings. Instead, she was helping him come out of his shell and into who he wanted to be. When Bliss returned and her and Miracle discussed starting a family, he offered to father the litter, and intended to assume a role akin to uncle of the litter. This was something his family didn't approve of, and he had just gotten permission from Shule to change his last name to separate himself from the family. However, he was on the patrol that experienced the explosion, and died instantly. He never even knew Miracle was pregnant. [ OPEN ]

BANE ANWIR // Youngest Child/Daughter. The baby, who can do no wrong. She's rather a terrible, spoiled she-cat, but she has the brawn to back up her brattiness, so many can't actually fight back against it. Her mother defends her at every opportunity, insisting she simply doesn't know any better, excusing her daughter's childish behavior no matter who the she-cat hurts. She wants to always be the center of attention, and seeing her mother's obsession with Miracle's kits, is in turn obsessed with winning back her mother's attention, no matter how she has to do it. DELU ANWIR // The only child of Alana. Spoiled from birth, and always pitted against the other kits. Her mother is overprotective of her to the point she's never seen anything outside of Post Kilo unsupervised by her mother. Of course, she's smart enough to eavesdrop, and despite her sickly nature, likely knows far more than she lets on about the family workings. [ SHADOWBLADE ]

ATOL ANWIR // Eldest, trying to shield his siblings from his father's rage. As a result, he's driven insane very early on in his youth, and vows to kill his father and find his mother. However, when he fights back too much, his father threatens to hurt his siblings more. [ OPEN ]

PAISLEY ANWIR // Middle, emotionally abused, she learned it was better to comply than to fight, after all, her initial outspoken nature lead to their father threatening to kill her younger siblings and accidentally poisoning her in her Cadethood which resulted in her being unable to maintain balance and caused her to be demoted to Guider from Scout Cadet. She's a mere pawn to her father, likely to be married off in her youth to build political relationships at the whims of her father. [ SHADOWBLADE ]

ARMES ANWIR // Middle, the sedated one. What a better way to control the rest of the litter when one is entirely helpless? Thanks to a secret stash of herbs their father keeps, he's near always sleeping, or ill, or something else. Always watched, too close to be saved, it seems. He was promoted later than his siblings due to his 'ill' nature, but he quickly fell through the ranks to Auxiliary, and even if his father stops the herbs now, they've had a permanent effect on his body. He might be sharp in mind, but he's too weak to do more than the bare minimum. [ OPEN ]

UMINA ANWIR // The youngest. They're perhaps the only one their father treats well, if only because the child is too scared to speak up. They've seen all that their father does to their siblings, and determined not to suffer their same fates. So they play the role of whatever their father wants so as to not be threatened, to avoid the abuse, anything. They're a blank canvas, and have no real sense of themself at all. A mere puppet pulled by strings, wearing a mask as they try to keep everything around them from crumbling to dust. [ OPEN ]
