Innocentlamment hummed lightly to herself as she basked in the sun's rays on the sunning stones by the river. In other clans such behavior might have been considered lazy, but here is was common and encouraged. Basking in sunlight was good for you health, and many cats came out here when they had something on their minds. She hadn't been paying attention to her surroundings, being so deep in sunclan territory was realitly safe, but before she knew what was happening a heavy weight fell upon her back as something was stuffed into her mouth. She fell limp, slipping out of consciousness stardance

The team of cats worked swiftly to cover their tracks and carry the she-cat away. They moved like the wind through back through the territory and exited into the desert wasteland. When she woke, she would find herself hanging from the top of a cave via a system of vines. Below her was a pit as deep and wide as she was long and filled with murky water. Various other objects surrounded them as well. Three cats stood in a circle around Innocentlamment as she hanged: a calico, a ginger tabby, and a shorthaired gray cat.
The ginger tabby she-cat spoke first. "I'm Leila, the calico is Leaf, and the other one is Ethan." She paused. "If you answer all of our questions truthfully, then this will be quick. If not, you'll be wasting all of our time. Got it? Now tell us your name and rank within SunClan."

Innocentlamment opened her eyes slowly, blinking trying to get the fuzzy world around her into focus. She could see the three figures before her, but there was something wrong. It took her several moments to register that they were upside, or rather she was. She struggled in her vines, thorns cutting into her skin causing a hiss to escape her lips.
Then they began to speak... Such odd names, and their scent was unique to. They didn't smell like any of the clans that she knew, but clearly they were working together as a group in order to pull off a kidnapping from the heart of SunClan's territory. Even though the world around her was going in and out of focus, she wasn't about to give these cats whatever information it was that they were after "I won't tell you anything"

Leila rolled her eyes. "Of course you won't. I really wonder why I bothered asking. Whatever." She beckoned towards the back of the cave, and a bunch of other cats came trotting out. The each carried a severed scorpion's tail and stinger in their mouth. They placed them in front of Leila as she continued. "You know the great thing about scorpions? They can sting you even after they die." She toyed with one of the severed tails at her paws.
She then quickly closed the distance between them until she was within an arms reach. With another tail signal, some cats lowered the she-cat close to the water until her nose was just skimming the surface. "I'm going to ask you again: what is your name and rank?" As Leila spoke, Ethan picked up a scorpion tail and began to lightly press it into Innocentlamment's skin in various places. It did not go deep enough to trigger envenomation, but the intent was clear enough.

The she-cat struggled in her bonds as the scorpion stingers were brought out and laid before her. Coming from SunClan it was something that she was all to familiar with, a technique that she had seen used on prisoners before. It never ended well for the prisoner. Then her vines were lowered, the cold water forced up against her nose and she couldn't move away from it. She squirmed as the sharp point pushed into her skin
"Fine, fine, just let me down" she replied, a fearful look in her eyes
"My name is Cinderbandit, and I am a warrior" she lied seamlessly, with no hesitation. She picked a cat that she knew well, one in which she would be able to keep up the facade with ease even under pressure. She wasn't sure what these cats were after just yet, but she wasn't willing to give it to them that easily.

"Cinderbandit, huh?" Leila gave a quick nod to Leaf. "Unfortunately for you, this isn't a negotiation. You're upside down and dangling from the ceiling. If it wasn't clear, Cinderbandit, I don't care for what you want. Now, you should care about what I want." Then what Leaf was bring in came into view. It was a stone bowl filled with loads of glowing hot, red stones. "I hope your clan has enjoyed the gifts we left at the edges of your territory." She chuckled. "Those were loads of fun... I digress."
Leila cupped her head in her paws and lifted it to meet her gaze, claws pointed into the back of her head so she couldn't lean back too easily. "We want to know about some of your allies and associates, Cinderbandit. Tell us about your history with NightClan and DayClan."

What in the Sun God's name?
Innocentlammnet thought as the bowl of glowing stones was brought forward and placed beside whom she assumed was the leader of this little gang. So they were the ones responsible for all the traps? All the injuries? Then why hadn't any of them been scented around the borders? How big was this group? How had they gone undetected?
Wait.. were those stones for her? She struggled in her binds "What are you talking about? I'm a SunClan warrior, I don't have anything to do with DayClan or NightClan"
Post by stardance on Sept 25, 2021 22:37:13 GMT -5
"Well, you do sweetie. You don't just ignore your neighbors, do you? You have relationships with them. And that's what I want to know." With another flick of her tail, Leaf grabbed two cool stones and shoved a few rocks into the water below. They sizzled and hissed as they submerged. It was not dangerous, but more of a threat. "Also, what happened to Bloodystar?"

Innocentlamment huffed, struggling to get her nose out of the water that was already growing warm from the single stone that had been pushed into it "What does my...." she stopped herself from continuing. Had she almost admitted that Bloodystar was her brother? Luckily the words she had been saying were not enough to quite show what her intended words had been
"DayClan are allies I suppose, at least their leaders. NightClan let a ray in, but I wouldn't say that we are on good terms" she struggle futily to get out of her binds "As for Bloodystar.... he turned into a crow I suppose" even though her answer was true, it was easy for those that didn't know the term to assume she was talking nonsense.

Unfortunately, it was not quite the answer she was looking for. Leila's claws curled into the back her head and she pulled her down into the warmed water below. She held Innocentlamment there for ten seconds, and then let her come up for air. "I know you're trying to hold out on us, Cinderbandit. I know Bloodystar became Bloodycrow." She dunked her head under again for another 20 seconds. "Be straight with me, and, as I said, this will be quick."
She took a deep breath and cupped Innocentlamment's head again with her claws to raise it up. "Now that we've tested the waters, so to speak, I want to know what you found in that volcano."

Innocentlamment fought against her bindings as she was dunked down into the water. It filled her mouth and nose, before being lifted up above the surface once more. Her loud gasps filled the air, spitting out the water that filled her mouth. Before she could catch her breathe she was plunged down again. Her mind was growing fuzzy now, becoming harder and harder to keep her mind clear enough to form a coherent answer "Liquid fire" though her words were more muddled, her struggles becoming weaker and weaker

"Okay then, now we're getting somewhere." She smiled. "You see what happens when you give me a straight answer? You don't get hurt, and we just keep talking. Keep that in mind, little one." She let go of her head and let her dangle again. "I want to know more about these painted stones. What did they look like? Was it all one drawing? Were there a lot of small pictures?" When behind Innocentlamment, Leila nodded to one of the spectators who than ran off. "So your little brain can handle, I want more information that just 'nothing special'."

"I didn't see them" it was clear that she was growing tired, both physically and mentally 'I just heard that there was things painted on the wall and some sort of rounded stones. I think someone said something about a sun? spirals?" Innocentlament hadn't been one of the cats to explore the tunnel, not had she really cared all that much about what they had found within "Everyone assumed it was some old sunclan camp or something, because they looked similar to the symbols we use"

She stayed silent for a moment longer. This she-cat knew nothing. All that work for nothing at all. She sighed and looked to the spectators above and hooked her tail. They nodded, and then they yowled something back into the cave. Tons of little tiny feet could be heard scampering down the hallways of the cave. A horde of kittens came flooding into the hall and gathered in a circled around Innocentlamment. With one quick word, Leila had all of the kittens fall silent. The menacing cruel facade fell away in an instant. "Good morning, everyone!"
"Good morning, Leila!"
She smiled at all of them and pointed to one whose tail was raised. "What is it Echo?"
The little ginger kitten pointed at Innocentlamment's dangling body. "Who is that? Is she..." The little she-kit snarled. "SunClan." The kitten couldn't have been more than a moon old.
"Yes, dear. This is a SunClan cat. I'm sure you all recognize the paint." She took in a gulp of air. "Remember, we do not take joy in violence against outsiders. Atinwwozhilashi." The kits repeated the last word think she said. Clearly they had said it many times before. "But her Clan is responsible for the extermination of our ancestors." Leila's gaze returned to Innocentlamment. The unbridled hatred seeped from her eyes. "Anything is justified when dealing with them. They would kill you all if they had the chance."
All the kittens nodded, and Echo stepped forward. "Can I..." Leila nodded and pointed to the scorpion stingers. All the other kits moaned.
Leila's malice melted away again as she addressed the kittens again. "Don't worry everyone, the stingers' venom won't kill her no matter how much you give her. It'll just be painful for her, like stubbing your paw but a thousand times worse."
By now Echo made her way over to Innocentlamment and held the stinger to her shoulder with the help of a rock others had pushed over so the kits could reach better. "For my ancestors, for the future." With that she stung her with the stinger. After a moment of holding it in, Echo stepped down and the next of the kits stepped forward with a stinger in jaw, and a line formed behind them.

"What in the Sun God's name?" Innocentlammnet cursed as the hoard of kits came out to surround were she was hanging
They all sat around repeating after the lead cat, a growl filling her throat as she spoke about SunClan cat like they were something terrible "I don't even know who you are. Just let me down" she began to wiggle in her bindings, but even the kits ignored her as the moved to grab the stinger. THe leader stood to face her, holding the stinger in her mouth "You are not going to get away with this!!!" she warned, just before the stinger was placed deep into her skin.
Innocentlament couldn't finish her thoughts as she wailed, the venom from the stinger entering into her body. She thrashed around, the vines cutting into her flesh and causing little drops of blood to fall into the water below... and that was only the first of many....

Each of the kits went up and plunged a stinger into Innocentlamment's shoulder. All but the last one did not hesitate. The last tom, clearly the runt of his litter, visibly shook throughout the whole thing. Each of Innocentlamment's wails pierced his very soul, but he continued in line with the scorpion's tail ready. When it was finally his turn, he stopped. It just took one look into her eyes. He turned his shivering gaze up to Leila. "I-I don't think I can do it... she's already hurting so much."
Leila had been thoroughly enjoying herself the entire time. Hearing Innocentlamment squirm was just music to her ears, just as the kitten's question was. She patted the little runt on the head and gave it a swift lick. "It's okay Stag, I know it can be hard sometimes. We can give it a shot next time, okay? Or you can spend some time with the healers, see if that's a good fit for you." She gave him another quick lick on the head before turning to the rest of the kits. "Now, let's all head away so she can join the others in oneness."
The kits scampered up to the spectator's ridge with Leila, and it they reached the top not a moment too soon. Mist formed underneath Innocentlamment seemingly out of nothing, and then it grew faster and faster until it swirled around the she-cat. It immediately started stripping the heat from her body as the temperature in the center of the swirling mist dropped to well below freezing. It gave her one vision: that of a ginger cat painting his claws in the same kind of mist. With that it squeezed in like python, Leila looked on with a smile, and Stag looked away.

The she-cat screamed until her throat went sore, her struggles dying down as her body went limp. Raised welts from the scorpion stingers covered her pelt, and by the time the last kit approached she was almost listless. She was barely hanging on, the venom from one sting wasn’t enough to kill a cat, but she lost count of the number of kits whom had pressed the tails into her flesh.
She was to tired to fight as the most began to swirl around her, seeping through her fur and pulling what warmth her body still had. It was frightening, but it number her pain, her limbs began to loose feeling.
