Sourkit spat out the mouse he had been eating with disdain. His skin still riddled with painful bug bites making the already difficult kit almost unbearable. Even his parents could hardly stand to be around him, which only made him even more angry and violent than normal. Cats tended to five him a wide circle of personal space, afraid that he might snap and attack them next. uniqcrim

"Did you get a rotten mouse?" Where others were avoid the sour and disdainful little kit, Chrysoprasepaw did not feel the need to. There had to be something making him grumpy and indignant cats did not particularly bother her. She began working on eating a magpie herself, plucking out a few feathers that floated to the ground in a haphazard manner.

"Not hungry" he replied, shoving the mouse away with disdain as it tumbled down the stone back towards the pile
Sourkit turned to her with a little hiss, before turning and curling up into a little ball. However it was clear that he wasn't comfortable. He didn't stay in the position long, his back leg stretching up to scratch behind his ears leaving little red lines from his claws behind.

She tilted her silver tabby head when he hissed at her, a little surprised but unbothered. "Are you okay?" Normal and healthy kits didn't hiss or move around so much when trying to get comfortable. "Do you want me to go get Sakurapaw? She can help you feel better if you aren't feeling any good. Or I can take a look? I'm not a medicine cat but I have common sense." She wasn't his mother but she felt empathetic for the kit. Something wasn't quite right.

"No, itchy" he nearly wailed, forced to sit back up and start scratching again. He had seen Sakurapaw several times already and she would make it stop for a little while, but then it just came right back"Sakurapaw bad healer" he complained, shifting positions again trying to find some way to make it stop. He couldn't get any sleep this way, and had nearly no appetite.

Hmm... she furrowed her brow. "I can't help permanently, but I know of a cool little pool nearby. It's shallow and not dangerous. The water might help you relax for a bit but you can't stay in for too long. What do you say?" No one would chastise her for taking the grumpiest kit of the clan for a small outing just outside. They weren't going far at all. If it helped maybe they could find another solution solution less temporary.

THe little tom nodded, "Ok" he agreed, rising to his paws and shifting his weight back and forth. Normally it was hard to get the young kit to cooperate, but the though of and adventure and easing the bites seemed like a good idea. Besides then he could get all the stinky medicine off of his fur that Sakurapaw had put there.

She led the grumpy little tom kit just outside of camp and point towards the cool pool of water. It was in the shade and extremely shallow, only a true fool could drown themself in it. "Lay down in the pond. It should help, at least for a little bit." Chrysoprasepaw instructed him. "How did you get all those bug bites anyways?" She asked, eyeing his leg.

Sourkit darted forward into the water, eagar to try anything to make the itchyness stop. The cool water was really soothing, as he laid down with his head on the shore, a wave of relief washing over his face "Bugs, water?" he wasn't really sure himself. Something about how the flood had caused stagnant water and attracted them. He wasn't the only cat to have some bad bug bites, but perhaps the loudest complainer
