Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
For all intents and purposes, it wasn't a surprise that Rustspiral acted the way he did. He'd never been interested in the whole rise and grind thing; he'd always been more than happy to share responsibility with just about anyone who would take it. But, he was trying to be better. Bubblegleam had made a passing comment about their future and a family, and since then, he had made it his mission to be better. Of course, his mate didn't probably intend for him to take her comment so literally, but hey, no one should complain that the tom notorious for not putting in the work was actually going to do something productive for once in his life.
With a huff, the tom marched to the entrance of the camp. "Anyone who isn't busy should join me in a hunting patrol! Prey pile's getting low!" he announced at the top of his lungs, much probably to the annoyance of anyone who was in the Cenote at all.
Violetpaw limped gingerly into the camp to lay down outside of the apprentice's den. He was exhausted, his paws ached from training on the unforgiving rocks that bordered the waterfalls, and he was torn between his desperate need to rest and the hunger gnawing at his stomach. In the end, he stumbled to the prey pile and pulled off a mouse, and he was only a few bites in when he heard Rustspiral's call.
The apprentice swallowed hard and refused to cry. "Okay, I'll come," Violetpaw mewed meekly, taking a last chunk off of his mouse.
"Excellent!" the tom chirped. "I haven't been on a hunt with an apprentice in a while!" He wasn't technically lying, but it perhaps would have been more accurate if he would have said he hadn't gone on a hunt with anyone in a while. The ruddy tom was unlikely to admit that, though. He was unlikely to admit a lot of things, really (which was exactly how he'd ended up with a DayClan cat in the first place). "I don't think we've formally met. I'm Rustspiral!" he then meowed with a lopsided grin, scanning to see if there was any other unwilling participants.
Violetpaw couldn't say the same; most of his hunts were with warriors these days. Sometimes he still went out with his siblings, and Rabbitpaw was always at his side, but it was hard to connect with the younger cats and he felt himself on larger patrols more and more often. Maybe it was a sign that Larkspur trusted him and he was close to becoming a warrior, but mostly he was just tired from trying to keep up.
"I'm Violetpaw," he replied, dipping his head formally. "Rabbitpaw might join us if we can find her." He hadn't seen his pair since earlier that morning, and her absence felt strange when he was so used to her being close. He turned to skim the camp as well for a sign of her familiar coat.

"Oh I heard my name being called?" The she cat walked out of her comfy spot as she had finished eating her breakfast. "Ahh it's Violetpaw I should have known. What can I do for you today friend?" She turned seeing the other cat whom she saw around camp but hadn't talked to yet. "Oh and hello to you too!"
"Violetpaw," the tom greeted. "Nice ta meet ya, Violetpaw. I'd love your partner to join us, too," he then meowed with a nod, just in time before suddenly Rabbitpaw was there.
Rustspiral should have anticipated that if he got the attention of one training partner, he'd get the attention of the other. Yet, he was a little surprised at just how fast the she-cat seemed to materialize out of no where. It was the same way he would materialize at the sound of Bubblegleam's voice. But, this was not the time to think about potential relations between apprentices. No, the merry trio had work to do. "Hiya! We're going hunting!" he meowed with a grin. "And since you're already here, you should come with."

Truthfully Rabbitpaw was never very far from Violetpaw but that had to do with just how close of friends they were. Yes...that was it... "OOO yes I am so down to hunt! I wanted to do something anyway since I was becoming bored and this would be the perfect thing to do. Killing two birds with one stone...or well who knows maybe we will bring back two birds. Or anything really. But whenever you are ready I'll follow you guys!"
