Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Most days, Foxpaw was fine enough to train with Rosypaw. Since his dad was currently on mission, they had been tagging along with Aspenstar's pair, and things had been fine so far. They were less fine today, since Foxpaw may or may not have had a little bit of a fainting spell earlier. Obviously, the leader wouldn't let the young tom train, but instead of making him just sit with Pinesimmer, she had presented him with a task: instead of training with the rest of them, he was going to babysit one of the new kittens the leader had adopted with Larkspur. Foxpaw couldn't help but be excited - this was the first time he was going to interact with Azaleakit, and they were basically brothers!
With a skip in his step, the apprentice made his way into the nursery. Although the kits often slept in the leader's den with Aspenstar and Larkspur, during the night the kittens were watched by the queens, as neither cat really had extensive amounts of time for childcare. "Azaleakit!" he meowed, his eyes glimmering. "It's time for our hang sesh!"
Azaleakit was... a questioning cat, to put it simply. Quite a bit of his time has been spent on questions, whether it be about the cats around him, his role in a clan like this, or a story like his own. There were a fair few questions and wonders to throw out there, but there was still a clan's life to get used to! Not only was he figuring out how things worked and what he was to spend his time on, but he also wanted to gain an edge on the challenges to come. Apprentice life... now that sounded like an intriguing time! It was the next trial ahead of him, and while it was a good set of moons away from him, it was still worthwhile to figure out what he could. After all, it decides his next role in a clan like this... His mind was hooked on what few battle and hunting moves he's seen from cats around him, typically from peeking out to watch an apprentice practice around the nursery or what he could get from the queens. Was he really going to get as big as these cats around him? He sure hopes so, because he's had his struggles trying these techniques out with small paws!
He was in the middle of an attempt at a pounce on a leaf in front of him until he heard the sound of pawsteps coming into the nursery. He didn't get much time to peek on over until he heard the very same cat meow his name... That little skip in his step... well, he only knew one cat that did something like that- Foxpaw! He wasn't exactly a cat Azaleakit knew well, or vice versa certainly, but Foxpaw didn't seem to mind that very much. His long tail flicks about while he brings on a curious look over towards him, before he brings on a small little grin! Let's see just how energetic he really was. Azaleakit quickly gets back into his imitation of a hunter's crouch, swaying his tail all about before he lunges at Foxpaw in a small little pounce, rumbling out a welcoming trill! He didn't expect his pounce to do much or knock him over, but at least it made an alright introduction! He'd seen another one do the same anyway. "Foxpaw~! Woah, y'came here all for me? Cool!"
He was genuinely surprised at the kitten's enthusiasm, and he found himself stumbling back a few steps when Azaleakit's small body came whipping towards him. He let out a delighted purr - he loved the spirited kits most, although he swore he loved all of the kittens in the clan equally. "Whoa, whoa," he grinned, regaining his footing, before messing up Azaleakit's forehead fur affectionately with his tail. "Excitable today, aren't we?"
Foxpaw had been the same when he was a child, perhaps even worse. This was something that had been contentious in NightClan; his health was on the mind of every single one of the powerful cats in the clan, whether they wanted to or not, and at least three of them had been seriously concerned most of his kithood that he was overdoing it with his particular zest for life. He had expected that to have changed when he got older, but it didn't seem to ; the sniffly boy was still almost always under the watchful eyes of those who were concerned about him.
"Yeah! Asp asked me if I'd keep an eye on you while she's with the other apprentices," he meowed with a puffed chest. "Which means for the entire evening, you and I are going to be best friends, kid. So, what do you like to do? Tell stories? Catch bugs? See who can run around camp fast enough? The world is full of possibilities."
