Even though the season the clan was named after was coming to an end, and autumn winds began to stir the air, the clan was doing well. Well enough that Halcyondrift didn't mind shirking his duties for some much needed time alone. Much needed in his own mind, though. It'd been an agonizing day since he was last in the water, and he half suspected he was about to dry up from it. The morning grass was still dotted with dew, but it wasn't enough to quench the blonde tom's thirst. It was only when he put his paw in the chilled river that a shiver of relief went up his spine. And coldness, cause wow the river was cold right now. He was definitely too early, but that was how you got the best spots on the beach, no? It wasn't like this was a deserted spot, he could never be the only one drawn to an oasis with the heat ravaging the land. His other paws quickly followed the first, his nerves seeming to shrug off the sting of the water. Any remaining sleep was ripped from his eyes as his head dipped under the waves before he suddenly pulled it back out. Hair covering his eyes, he shook the water off on instinct, unaware of anyone around him.

Nebulous-sight quietly and carefully trekked the path his paws long since knew out of muscle memory. He didn't often go out alone but certainly didn't mind it either, he just paid a little extra attention and kept his ears perked up and alert. He didn't notice anything at first, distracted by just the simple delight of hearing the water was indeed near by and he made it without problem.
As he emerged into view, he had no idea someone or something was also here until the splashing of something emerging from the water, "Hello?" he instantly called out before he even turned to where it came from - just slightly off the side of the mostly black tabby with light blue eyes laced with faint old scars around them.
