Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
happy belated #FloodFallClan2 everyone! to celebrate, it's finally time to traumatize Hystericstar!! You can find a list of all of the litters HERE. special thanks to Cleaver for this very fitting title
This entire situation screamed déjà vu. Something like this had happened before, Hystericstar knew it, but it was almost as if some sort of trauma had caused the memory to be wiped from his memory. Yet, waking up to an entire flood of kits in his den was something rather unforgettable, and it was something that seemed to be becoming a habit. Sure, it happening twice isn't quite enough to be called a habit, but the fact that it had happened that many times was already strange. Plus, there was Lovekit, who had also just shown up in his den before. Was there a specific mixture of herbs that he had been experimenting with that attracted them? Cal never seemed to have this problem before!
The small hollow of the leader's den could easily fit five fully grown warriors, but with possibly around 50 kits - it was hard for Hystericstar to get an exact count, as a paw was currently shoved in his face - space was definitely tight. No, tight was an understatement here. It felt like Hystericstar couldn't move a single step without stepping on three separate kits.
"That's it, I'm never sleeping again," he muttered, just as another paw seemed to manifest out of nowhere with the intention to kick him in the spleen.
The aurulent stood at the entrance of the den, surveying the collection of kittens that they had accumulated. "The nursery aids will be pleased to have something to do again," he mused. "Once they're older, we can set them up with new mentors." A few kittens stood at his heels, and he picked one up, turning it over to examine it fully. "Found these little ones out on patrol with Chaicrisp," Jayjack clarified as he piled the new kittens on top of Hystericstar.
Honestly, Hystericstar had no idea how to even begin processing what was happening. At his Aurulent's voice, he turned his head towards the exit of his den, only to have a new kit placed on top of his head. There would be no help from Jayjack, it seemed. Were there others that had piled kits on him in his sleep? Or had they all just... materialized in his den?
He blinked. Once. Twice. "What is going on?" The words were slow and deliberate, as his mind struggled for an answer that didn't involve the clan launching a widescale search for kits overnight without his knowledge.
Jayjack shrugged. "I went on a patrol and we ran into a litter of kits. Looks like I wasn't the only one." He appraised the group of kittens. "Once they're older, I'll take them out and start doing some training. They'll make good apprentices if we can find enough decent mentors."
