Juliet couldn’t wait for the day she was free from this stupid family. The Auxiliary was already an outcast among the Regime, and even her own family. Juliet dreamed of the day she could marry into another family, drop her last name, and take on a new one. Find a family she was accepted in. Today was not that day, however, and the blacksmith was stuck here, constructing trap after trap for the mercenaries, a pile more broken ones off to the side that they expected her to repair. All in all, it was incredibly boring and repetitive, and she couldn’t help but see the flaws in the way these were made, allowing them to break much more easily under the careless paws of the Mercenaries.

Speaking of Mercenaries none other than Alese walked in coming to pick up some fixed traps that he could use for his duties for the day. It wasn't surprising why the traps were braking: the mercenaries were being pushed hard to get more things done. As a general workaholic the tom didn't typically mind being busy but even he was beginning to feel the strain of the hard work. He was tired but wouldn't let that stop him. He would carry on for his family's sake. His siblings needed him.
"Here to pick up some of those from you," Alese's tail pointed to the repaired ones she had which wasn't a whole lot yet. It seemed that there were more broken traps than useable ones. "Sounds like we may need even more here soon, heard they are expecting us to work even longer and harder hours than what we are doing now. At least you just have to make and fix the stuff. At some point you get a break at least." He hadn't meant to make it sound as rude as it came out but his tired mind wasn't functioning like it usually did.

"Yes, and I also get the Sentinels screaming at me to work harder, when I'm the only one even here right now." Juliet Jaeger complained. Of course, they couldn't exactly force someone like her to work harder. She was already incapable of every other role, and most likely wasn't physically capable of bootcamp. So long as she at least did something, she got fed, though. But she wished she had someone to talk to. "Maybe if you rocks-for-brains didn't break them so often it wouldn't be a problem. Do you just throw them at the prey? You know you're supposed to sit and wait."

Southpaw had been down into the tunnels to help Juliet with the traps as punishment for going onto SunClan's territory. She had been escorted down there to make sure that she attended, as she shot a mean glare at her supervisor
With a reluctant sigh, the young apprentice limped over to where the she-cat was working "Shule said I have to help you with traps"
Juliet's head turned to peer at the limping apprentice with a hefty sigh. "You barely look fit enough to stand, let alone help." She huffed, though the she-cat gently patted the ground next to her. "If you're gonna help, may as well sit next to me so I can show you what to do."

She made her way over sitting down, and her long fluffy tail wrapping around her paws even though it pained her to do so. The ground was dusty and she would be grooming it for hours later to get it clean again "I just hurt my shoulder, its nothing" she looked at the vines laid out around the den with some curiosity. Back in SunClan they didn't have all this
"No, but you're going to be moving your legs a lot, so you might get sore. At least you won't be putting much weight on it." Despite her prickly start, Juliet seemed happier to have someone around. "Okay, so we're making traps. The mercenaries use them to catch live prey that we can bring back to the Regime for like, food, or if the Guiders wanna do something with the living ones or whatever. They're mostly made of vines and twigs, but these aren't exactly the best design. And the mercenaries are big dumb brutes who can't keep them in one piece for more than a day." She pointedly glared at Alese again. "Which is why there's so many broken ones lying about we have to fix."

"Then why don't you design a better one?" it was an actually questions, not her trying to be a smart aleic. This didn't really seem all that bad... So what had Commander Shule made her do this as a punishment? It didn't make a lot of sense, but what did down here in the tunnels? At least it was better than running. She let out a little sigh "Just show me how to fix them"
"Gotta finish fixing these ones before we have time to make something better." She shrugged her shoulders. "Which means the faster we work, the more time we get to sit around and either design something new, or relax."

Southpaw shook her head, honestly it didn't really make any sense. Why didn't these cats just hunt like normal cats? With teeth and claws instead of vines and sticks? She grabbed one of the vines with her good paw drawing it in close, an inspecting where it had been snapped. Not that she really knew what to do with it or even the faintest clue how to fix it "Here is the break"

"Hey now who said we were big dumb brutes? Last I checked we are working more hours and shifts than you are. All you do is make and fix things. We are the ones that are doing all the hard labor here. And for the record I was the one trying to be careful and not break your stuff here. Even telling the others to do the same, but I'll gladly be like the other "big dumb brutes." So much easier and faster doing my job without actually being considerate." Alese equally glared back at the she cat feeling his temper rise due to his exhaustion.

Southpaw grinned a little, it was the first time she had heard of the Regime cat have enough backbone to say something like that instead of yes mamm. No sir. Thank you. It was quite refreshing, and a rather witty comeback at that. She looked over to Juliet to see what she would say next.

"Uh huh, and then you can get yelled at for not doing your job because you broke all your traps and I can't fix em fast enough. You wanna be a big dumb brute? Have fun when there's thorns in the traps and you waste precious Guider resources because of your attitude." Juliet snarked. "What's the Commander gonna do to me? I'm not fit for Bootcamp, and right now, I'm the ONLY one to fix these traps for you. So you better treat me right, or I can work a lot slower and shoddier. Just try me."

Southpaw looked between the two cats taking in the exchange with utter delight. To most cats the argument would have seemed rather frightening, but to Southpaw is was quite thrilling. So much better than laying in her den bored out of her mind all day, even if she had to do a little bit of work to watch the show.

"Hey I was on your side, remember me saying that? YOU were the one being a brat to me and not the other way around sweet cheeks. It's a shame you like to snap at the one cat who didn't smack talk you behind your back. And stick up for you. But hey by all means do what you want to do. I don't have to take this from you." Alese felt his hackles raise in anger and tail swish violently side to side. How dare this she cat be so rude to him. Although he didn't know much or see much of Juliet he knew her situation well enough and didn't hold it against her she could not do the things others could. But her attitude reeked and could see this being the reason why the others didn't care what they did to her precious traps.
"And yet you're still here, flapping your mouth. Aren't you supposed to be working. That's all you ever do anyway. Clearly it's rotted your brain and your manners. 'Thought wonderful Mercenaries like you didn't have time to waste talking to the likes of me." Juliet wasn't letting up, so it seemed, and apparently had nothing to lose in snapping at Alese. Really, things couldn't get worse for her, so why should she care?

"Well you would think maybe once in a while it would be nice to try to make friendly with the oh so sad Juliet but she would rather complain and go boo hoo oh woes me all day apparently. If we were going to talk about bad manners it would be you sweetheart. Now as you mentioned I am incredibly busy and do need to go back to work. I'll make sure next time to not bother you princess." The nerve of this cat! Alese gathered what he needed (or what was there he could take) and started to make his way out regretting on even trying to make nice with that sad angry ball of fur. Usually the work acholic it was a shame he had wasted so much time and breath on that undeserving she cat.

"Buh bye, I don't let the tunnel collapse on your way out." Juliet snarked, rolling her eyes as the tom left. "Mercenaries, not chosen for their brains, are they?" She sighed.
The Auxiliary turned her head back to Southpaw, as if only just realizing the she-cat was still there. "What was your name again?" racer

Southpaw watched the banter, ears perked simply listening. It was about time one of the regime cats showed a little bit of a personality! "I'm Southpaw!" she said a little more cheerfully "Ugly face wanted me to come and help you..." she looked at the trap she was working on, though she had probably made more of a mess than she was really helping

Oh yeah, the Commander's granddaughter. That one. "I presume you're meaning Commander Shule with the ugly face thing." Juliet commented with a half laugh that sounded just a bit amused. "What did you do to yourself that you got stuck on Auxiliary duties anyhow? Must've been some kind of injury."
