Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Truthfully, she wasn’t in the Regime right now, but just beyond the DayClan borders into rogue lands, laying on her back in a patch of open wildflowers at midnight, watching the stars. This was a highly unusual event for the Commander of the Regime, taking a break, let alone one to the surface. But ever since having been captured and living in the city for moons, she had a newfound appreciation for the surface, in small doses. Probably, she should have told Sean or the Sentinels where she was going, but given the late time, and the fact that there was unlikely to be any trouble she couldn’t handle, she figured if there were any troubles, her mate and Havilah would have it handled, or someone would track her down. She had let one of the Mercenaries on guard know where she was, at least, so it wasn’t like it would be hard to find her.

It appeared that Shule didn't need to tell the sentinels where she was going. Apparently, at least one of them already knew.
"You're so busy these days, all with being kidnapped and probably tortured or whatever. I'm not really sure about all the details of whatever it was you recently went through," she meowed with a dismissive flick of her tail. "Anyways, whatever it was that took you away from me, I missed you!"
Gossamer Alessandra knew damn well that the feeling wasn't reciprocated, which was half of the reason she enjoyed doing it so much. She gave the other cat an affectionate shoulder bump. "So, tell me, Mom , how have you been since you got back to the dirt prison you make me call home?"
She felt her skin crawling the very moment the word 'hello' reached her ears. Shule honestly didn't understand what Kaisra had wanted, still apparently wanted, with the previous Commander. Of course, the she-cat was her Sentinel, so it was never so easy to get away. Especially since Goss already seemed to know her routine. Which maybe wasn't that shocking, because as far as routines went, the mostly black feline was bored-to-tears predictable about it. "Well enough." Shule answered curtly, wondering for a moment if she could simply outrun the other feline.... She could likely out endurance he. So she hoped. "I'm more curious about where you went. Disappearing on the Regime and my daughter like that. Be thankful the Regime doesn't handle their deserters like SunClan."

Gossamer Alessandra sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws. Before she spoke though, she tilted her head so that she could gingerly lick away the single speck of dirt that had infected her otherwise pristine shoulder fur. She'd never get used to this dust, not again. She let out a sigh, re-focusing on the other cat. "Well, since you asked about it so nicely, it's none of your business and I suggest you stay in your lane," she meowed with a grin. "Deserter is such a harsh word, Mother dearest. I didn't... desert the Regime. I simply went on a vacation. It is not my fault that an expedition that I expected to take a few days took much longer than that. And plus, Shule-y baby, we both know you were relieved when I left, and not so relieved when I came back."

"Could have at least given the rest of us a warning then." Shule answered, visibly cringing at Gossamer calling her mother. Though the look was wiped from her face almost an instant later, though they both knew it had been there. "Commanders don't get the luxury of vacations, let alone ones that extend to such lengths."

"Now, don't try to fool yourself, Shule," she meowed with a sudden seriousness in her voice, although the amusement in her gaze never changed. "We both know that you don't think I was commander material. It shouldn't have surprised you that my time here was temporary." Was that guilt in her voice? Was she trying to hide something. "Kaisra deserved better though, I'll give you that."

"And yet she still took you back. Arei too, but present or gone, she's very much your daughter." Shule answered, though on the latter sentence, she seemed like there might almost be a hint of amusement in there. Of course, Arei was a spy for the Regime, hadn't ever left the Regime for another clan or 'vacation' either, so perhaps that made a bit more sense why the Commander held more of a fondness for her.

"I must be something special," she meowed with a shrug. In Gossamer Alessandra's mind, what was done was done. "Special enough that you didn't shoe me off." She winked, before clearing her voice. "Which brings us full circle. Now that we've talked about my recent history, we can go back to yours. Why're you up on the surface? I thought you were one of the few that actually liked living in a dirt prison."

"Sometimes I forget you don't necessarily know I lived on the surface for some moons." Shule mused casually. "Though I do still prefer this 'dirt prison' as you call it most days." Considering Goss didn't seem to know Shule didn't despise the surface, the Commander briefly wondered if the she-cat even knew of the fact Shule had been kidnapped by Foxstar. Considering Foxstar had done so specifically to get Goss's mate, she would have thought Kaisra would have said something. Then again, they hadn't had all that much time to get acquainted before the former Commander's disappearance, it felt like.
Gossamer shrugged. "That, my friend, is something that I'll never understand. The fresh air's the only thing that keeps me sane some days," she meowed, a strange tone in her voice. The white cat didn't think she'd ever get used to the cramped spaces, the dirt; she was made for the wide open expanse of land. Maybe she and Shule would get along better if they'd had met on the surface; she was at least a little more tolerable when not constantly vaguely claustrophobic. "What do you do when you come up here? Is it always stare off into space, or is there something more interesting about your endeavors?" Gossamer was not being very sucessful at getting any information out of the Commander, but that wasn't super surprising. What was surprising was that she hadn't already gotten bored and given up.

"Run, usually." It wasn't much of an answer, was it? "It's nice to watch the sun rise as you're racing across the land." Calling something nice was probably one of the highest compliments Shule could give. Or at least, it was perhaps one of the more positive things Goss had likely ever heard the stoic feline say, considering most things were usually neutral at best, or cold and sharp if she was irritated.
