Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Largelight wasn't a swimmer by any stretch of the imagination, but she did like going up to the Northern Sea every once in a while, in-between Garden Keeper duties. Back in the twolegplace, the largest pool of water she used to see were the puddles outside after a rainstorm, maybe as large as a pillow, but the lake-! Even though she knew Springclan was on the other side, the she-cat felt like the lake stretched on forever, barely able to see the shore on the other side. The way it glistened in the sunlight was almost magical, and made her feel glad to be there.
Thunderstorm spent much time with her kits and mate as of late, but even she needed a break. After all, she wasn't the youngest warrior to have kits, by far. What she didn't expect was another cat to be by the lake, where Thunderstorm was intending to go for a swim. "Just going to watch the water, or are you going to get in?"
Largelight jumped slightly at the unexpected appearance. "T-Thunderstorm! You startled me." She meowed nervously, somewhat flustered that she had been caught daydreaming by her clanmate. "I, um..." she raked her claws over the sand as she fidgeted in place, unsure of how to respond. "I...I don't know how to swim," she finally admitted. "I-It's not that I don't WANT to! But I've just never had the chance, and I was too embarrassed when Devotedcrow was giving his lessons to the younger cats..."
The garden keeper grinned, waving Largelight towards the water. "No time like the present then, and who better than a cat born in WaterClan to teach you?" Thunderstorm offered, heading for the water herself. She didn't seem judging of the other feline's lack of ability in the slightest, rather, content at being able to teach, and to have her chance as sharing the joys of swimming with more cats. "Soon enough you'll be a pro, I promise."
She stared after the fellow Garden Keeper like she had grown a second head, completely unbelieving Thunderstorm's nonchalant offer. "O-oh! Are you sure I won't be a bother?" She questioned, but found herself rising to her paws to follow anyway. "You obviously came down here for some time to yourself away from the Nursery. Your kits have grown so much, haven't they?"
"I wanted to go for a swim anyway, so it's no trouble at all. Besides, whether or not you intend on swimming for fun, it's an essential skill. Who knows when it'll save your life one day." Thunderstorm grinned as she stepped into the water, only up until her stomach fur brushed against the cool liquid, legs submerged. "They have grown! Soon enough I'll be teaching them to swim too. They'll all make wonderful warriors, and I know Pinetempest can't wait to help with their training once they're apprentices. Alright now, step into the water with me."
Largelight could only nod nervously as she slowly, cautiously, stepped into the water after Thunderstorm. "That's good to hear," she meowed with a small smile, noticing how strange and mushy the sand felt beneath her paws under water. "Is...Seaspar- er, Icesplash doing better as well?" She really didn't visit the Elder's Den as often as she should, perhaps because it was still hard to imagine one of her friends as an Elder while still so young. The Garden Keeper followed after Thunderstorm, her claws digging uselessly into the slippery ground as the waves rose higher and higher up her legs until she too was stomach deep.
