Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Grasslizard let out a curse under his breath as the rabbit swerved unexpectedly, causing the warrior to stumble over his paws for just a half-second long enough for it to disappear into a burrow and out of sight. Breathing heavy from being at full-sprint, the tom plopped his rear down onto the earth and resisted the urge to scream; that had been the third rabbit today he'd failed to catch - he was better than this! For some reason he was just off his game today, but he refused to go crawling back to camp without something for the Queens and Kits to eat.
Pinetempest was a Garden Keeper. He was working on a flower crown off to the side when he heard the sound of someone plopping down nearby, and he gently picked up the half made crown to follow the sound, only to see a very frustrated Grasslizard sitting on the ground. "Having trouble?" The tom asked, though the answer should have been obvious.
Grasslizard's ear twitched at the sound of another cat approaching, and he glanced up slightly from his pouting to acknowledge his clanmate. "Hey Pinetempest," he greeted half-heartedly. "Yeah, been having some bad luck hunting today. I swear the rabbits are almost mocking me; no matter how long I chase them, they don't seem to EVER get tired." His tail lashed out behind him in annoyance. "What about you? I didn't take you for the flower crown type."
"I think I'm just so used to it I could make them in my sleep." Pinetimpest inspected the crown. "I wanted something nice for my little siblings, and flower crowns always seem welcome enough."
He watched the annoyed tomcat. "Maybe skip the rabbits for today? You know how to fish?" Pinetempest had been a WaterClan cat, so fishing was probably the hunting method he was best with. Rabbits? Not so much.
He eyed the half-made crown wearily. "I feel like I'd get sick of making those," he replied, eyeing Pinetempest curiously when the tom mentioned his younger siblings. Grasslizard didn't have any siblings aside from Redflame, and his parents didn't seem like they were going to have another litter anytime soon. He wondered what that was like. "Eh, I can kinda fish," the warrior answered with a shrug. "I'm not too good at it, though. I feel like I don't have the patience to sit above a puddle all day long."
"You don't seem to have the patience for rabbit either." Pinetempest noted. "You'll probably have more luck with the fish at this rate. I'll even help you out." He offered, despite his dig at the tom a moment earlier. "The more that goes to the queens, the better, right."
Grasslizard pouted slightly at the slight dig on his hunting skills, but reluctantly forced himself to admit that Pinetempest had a point, though he seriously could've been less rude about it; trying to catch rabbits was going completely nowhere, so it was probably for the best he tried switching to a different prey. Fishing would definitely be mind-numbingly boring, but with a former Waterclan cat helping him, it he'd at least be going back to camp successful and not have his mother on his case again. "Sure," he meowed. "Lead the way, man."
